I'm not anymore as anal as I used to be with these sort of things. Day one here. I'ts a beautiful windy day and I work from home so the jeans are already dry from a lukewarm soak and this is how they fit. The waist stretched back easily, the rest of it shrunk to perfection. I'm only tempted to toss them in the machine for peace of mind later on and to take another couple cms off the inseam length. I'm delighted with the jeans, love the fit! great denim, light but crunchy, I feel it'll fade great. I can totally see me being loyal to these jeans for the most of the next 18 months, easily.26 points

Happily my pair landed, even much earlier in than the day than I'd have thought. Got a quick try on - I think these will be good. I'm too lazy for measurements - I tend to just try em on and if I feel I've sized well enough I just leave it alone and trust that whatever math I did upon ordering had some coherence to it. I have some room in the waist, it will likely be a little snug up there post wash but I think will stretch back out nicely - I don't need it to stretch back out to raw. The rest of the pants seem to have room to shrink all over, but nothing crazy. The length is the wildcard - room to cuff or not? Probably a little... I'd agree on the TCB/Ooe spectrum - my pair seems quite nicely made, pocket bags seem about just right sized - stitching isn't Ooe level tidiness but with some snips I think it would be pretty close, and I also think that's not so much the intent anyways. Really pretty much just as I'd hoped for a raw 30's pair. Simone did a nice job and knowing it's going to a one man operation I think these are worth every penny. Shame I can't get into it until the weekend!10 points

Here it is, the "Official Contest Thread" Thanks to @reallypeacedoff we have this map to see where these jeans will be worn. Please post your RAW/DRY/RIGID picture of the jeans with a newspaper or another method to show the date in this thread. Afterwards you are good to go. Soak, wash or wear them how you like. 18 months later we will use this thread to showcase the final results! Keep the banter and journey of the jeans in the original thread. There is no mandatory monthly update. We trust you guys to wear these jeans in good health. The judges will detect any cheating anyway6 points

I'm going to wash and tumble like always. Realistically looking at Sunday afternoon as the earliest I can make it to the laundromat to get started.5 points

😄 I was thinking this, if we can get a portal of 25 pairs of jeans in a tunnel that would be epic!5 points

Fwiw I only warm washed / hang dried and mine still looks more or less unblemished. Will get some post wash photos up once they’re dry.4 points

I may avoid the dryer then. I’d love to preserve the patch for as long as possible lol love the design2 points

Same. Decided against machine drying because of this, so hoping they dry fairly fast in the less than ideal weather.2 points

Have a feeling these will be one of my best fitting pairs, despite sizing up to size 40! As for the denim itself, I think they'll be fairly fast faders, something about the crunchiness that's hard to explain, but something I think we all intuitively understand having handled dozens (if not hundreds) of pairs over the years 😆 Construction is on par for what I'd expect for someone emulating 1942's (I went with 411S), a little shoddy here and there in a good way, I think he did a great job! Also a big fan of the hardware used, particularly the hidden rivets on my 42's. It's been a while since I've had a new pair, but this really invigorates my love for the hobby again. I'd place them somewhere between TCB and Ooe on the vibes chart, closer to TCB but with a bit more personality. Will run them through the hot cycle twice and air dry. Probably going to avoid the dryer in general this time around if they crock as fast as I'm expecting and also want to go for a more 40's vintage fades look this go around. https://www.instagram.com/p/C6s4sbRPF_6/?img_index=32 points
