Late to the Tender party - learned about this brand a few weeks ago. Got a pair of saddened wattle dyed 136 jeans from neighbour. Bill was super responsive to some of my questions on ig 😌 Rare to see this level of customer engagement. Some wears and washes later, the color’s setting in really nicely and the lovely marbling is starting to show.

If you put this place behind closed doors it would be the final nail in the coffin..

Did anyone ever see (or buy) those Nudie mats that were made of recycled denim, circa 2012? On a holiday, we were at a local market and picket up this old lady's version. Had it for a few years so it's pretty faded...

Yes. We found that this summer that our plot extended a good 10 feet past where we had originally thought, which gave us free range to purge a forest of buckthorn. It turned out that there were a good 4 - 5 chance oak saplings hidden in the mess along with about 10 old growth trees. The plan now is to merge with the rest of our landscaping and yard. Our hope is for more of a prairie look. The adjacent space will hopefully become a vegetable garden long term when our son is old enough to free some of our time again, until then we'll just rely on the CSA from our friends' farm.

Covering a few blunders from the above that I mentioned. Maine Mountain Moccasin: Started off originally as "New England Outerwear Co.", the brand focused on making traditional moccasin constructions boots and shoes. They eventually changed their name to be more clearly defined (I don't think they ever actually made outerwear, so funny choice to name your brand). I think things started off fine until they began offering MTO production without properly defining the expectations to their customers. People were paying 100% up front and then going months without any form of communication from the brand and a lot of people just thought their money was gone. After a few years of tomfoolery the brand eventually folded. No idea if everyone ever got their boots or not, personally I have a pair (they were RTW, never dealt with their MTO shenanigans) and they're really nice. Wish there was a brand around like this to fill the niche. Quoddy / Rancourt doesn't really do it for me, Russell and Yuketen have gone off the deep end with price increases. I promise to eventually go into detail on the Jack/Knife stuff, got a bunch of info from a very trusted source years ago but never did anything with it...but I'm off to work now. I'll track it down and see what I can post.

helleaux! I thought I should introduce myself now that I've finally joined. I think I've been lurking since 2021 (!) but in late 2022 suffered a stroke which paralyzed me. however, I've been working to recover ever since, and this year started wearing my old clothes again. can't really work on fading jeans right now (I like pre-lawsuit "fake" levi's repros with the arcs) but I also love jackets so I'm committed to this t-back FW 46-47 for now. the rest is very old polo.

I think my first time ever posting with no denim. Inis Meain, Powerwear, Great Lakes, Quoddy. Despite not being into the mocs aesthetic I found a pair of black cxl grizzly boots in their tent sale, my size for like 70% off msrp. Had to try because of the minimal sole, and I have to say I love how they feel as boots, and the black + boot thing gets away from the sort of boat shoe/loafer associations with mocs that I’m not particularly into.

Busy, busy at the shop. Lil sweaty and knackered. All denim Games Suit.
