let's talk about old/weird(?) sneakers

Here's an old-school shot from back in '88 I think, I cannot remember what the shoes I was wearing but would like them again.

 

I think they may have been Rivalry Lows but someone here might be able to shed the light, ( stripes were gold by the way ). I think Dom was wearing Nike Air Assault - cannot be overly sure though, getting old you see!

^naice. they've been popping up on various places online; tempted to cop as well but i'll wait and see if local nikes get em. last i tried on AF1s they looked like clown shoes so i'd rather have a chance to fit

got the barkroot AF1 mowabbs in hand right now, sand dune on the way. not sure how I feel about the neoprene sock fit yet, but they look awesome.

I went up half from my New Balance size. Length and width are spot on, but my foot still slides around a bit, due to the wider heel cup and the slippery neoprene. Dunno if it's something about these specifically or Nike in general which I'm not used to.

 

Love the old school hiking/climbing colorways, but I don't think they're working for me. Might try out the Air Tech Huarache's instead for that retro outdoors vibe; they seem to be shaped more to my liking.

I'm probably about half your height, but I can snap a pic later on. Pretty sure I'm gonna return. Not used to the bulk and flat sole. Thought I'd like the AF1 since my toe spread is really wide, but NB just feels better all around.

nb was a function brand first and foremost, nike is all fashion. their shoes are unwearable as fuck (as comfy as some are).

yeah I originally ordered them just to test fit and then get the sands, but I'm into the colors

bit the bullet and wore them out, now that the sole has flexed a bit they feel fine

gonna gig in em tonight
