^ i'll just chime in and say that unless your desperate to ski, the value simply isn't there. the snow is australia, whilst skiable, is generally pretty lousy and the costs associated with spending time in alpine areas might just break the bank.

spend it on bzs in melbourne.

yuh, go to new zealand for snow-associated activities. coming all the way to australia for snowboarding is like going to siberia to learn how to surf.

After I read the posts above I've decided to visit Melb for few days and continue my trip to NZ for my snow related activity. I hope everything would goes well. Thank you for the suggestion everyone.

What's Canberra like? Hard to find info on it compared to other Australian cities even though it's the capital.

Decent city for a student? (Study abroad programme gives ANU as an option).

I live in canberra, been here 21 years. If your a student a great city, for 6 months its even better i would say. Culture is beginning to get better, the cafe scene, different types of bars and clubs. ANU is a great place to do exchange, there is an awesome community at the uni, the grounds are great, its next to the "downtown" area. Canberra has some hidden gems, its close to the beach and the snow, it certainly has enough to do, its definitely a friend reliant city though. People are generally pretty nice. PM me if you have more questions.

I really love Quest Protein bars.

http://www.questproteinbar.com/

I only place an order once every few months if they release a new flavour or something because their shipping prices are really expensive.

But I recently just found and Australian stockist.

Seriously recommend banana nut muffin, chocolate peanut butter, cinnamon roll, white chocolate raspberry, choc chip cookie dough and apple pie.

For burgers, I also love this spot in Pyrmont, Sydney called 'Pulse'. It's near the Star casino, down the steps across the street, close to 'Coles' supermarket.

Website ain't much but the burgers are great. Just like Grill'd but more interesting options and homemade style. They do burritos on fridays too I think.
