it's been a minute, sufu, but i'm back! (sort of.)

my boyfriend is turning into a grown ass man with a business and all, and i want to buy him a suit for christmas. he is built like a hockey player/weight lifter (enormous thighs, barrel chest and stomach), 200 lbs. (mostly muscle) and fairly short (5'9").

i will obviously go to get him fitted for one, but would like some help narrowing down the choices, or recommendations on brands that fit people other than dior homme addicts.

not anything too expensive (let's aim for under $1500, mmk?).

brooks brothers has high quality suits for guys of all shapes and sizes. they have some updated cuts w/ narrow-ish lapels and somewhat high armholes too. it'll run you about $1k w/ functioning sleeve buttonholes and shit.

for $1500 just do any sort of bespoke or MTM. I don't know where you live, but you should have Brooks Brothers (recommend Golden Fleece and 1818 line), J. Press, and Ralph Lauren.
