anyone know of any beginner's resource for using the padkontrol with ableton? so far the youtube vids i'm finding are beyond my comprehension. i basically can't do shit, haha, although i'm trying.

experimenting with sample based music for the first time.

in the past i have played in bands and solo. done solo multi-track recordings, used step sequencers, this is kind of new and exciting.

I'm diggin this, at first I thought it was gonna be some tough joint, kinda reminding me of 99 Problems then all the other elements come in and it started reminding me of something from Pete Rock's Soul Survivor LP. Only thing I don't like is that "pop" percussion sound. Kinda stands out in a weird way.

ESTA - I dig the album man. I've listened to it a few times now and I enjoy your guys' sound. My only gripe would be it's very safe, and while all the beats are done well, I still feel like I've already heard them somewhere else in the sea of sampled jazz boom bap. Keep it up though you guys are dope!

haploid - I'm not too sure about this one man, or your last "Dre Beat". I understand it's "satire", but what is the point if this is your final product?

Anyways, jus tryin to keep this thread alive, so now I will post a new track from my upcoming EP for you all to enjoy. As always I appreciate any and all feedback!

btw minou - thanks for listening bruv, but I couldn't find any evidence of my kick being panned to the left at all. Even checked in ableton to make sure my knob twisting hadn't thwarted me and it's dead center..

You might have a stereo sample that's panned slightly left. Throw a utility on on it and drop the width to 0%

Thing is, i made the kick in ableton. might be izotope ozone that i used for n00b mastering that is sending it to the left while creating a stereo mix. I shall investigate..

Just wondering, what midi controllers are you guys using?

I'm tired of clicking in notes in ableton and a controller would make things a lot faster. Do you guys have any suggestions for a cheap one? Key or pad doesn't matter too much, as long as its got knobs and faders and shitt
