Was listening to NPR this afternoon at work, Fresh Air had all of Terry Gross's old interviews with him on. Started tearing up as customers were coming in. A small crowd was forming around my desk, and one woman asked if I was ok, all I could reply with was a muttered 'Wild Things' and shake of the head. One guy got what I was talking about and gave me that look of solidarity with a clasped hand brought to his chest, the rest stared at me blankly and walked into the studio.

I saw them in the early 2000s and Magnolia Electric Co in 2007. I'll remember those shows forever... dude was a brilliant songwriter.

I know it is coming, and I do not fear it, because I believe there is nothing on the other side of death to fear. I hope to be spared as much pain as possible on the approach path. I was perfectly content before I was born, and I think of death as the same state. I am grateful for the gifts of intelligence, love, wonder and laughter. You can't say it wasn't interesting. My lifetime's memories are what I have brought home from the trip. I will require them for eternity no more than that little souvenir of the Eiffel Tower I brought home from Paris.
