The savile row store is closing THIS WEEK!

Had a feeling this would happen eventually with whats going on with Evisu right now and the location they have. However dint expect them to announce so late. Wonder what will happen with all the stock and memorabilia.

Evisu lot 2000 no2, MIJ, handpaint. X-post evisu love, evo:

Again, some nice weather on the roof:

Obviously I am exposing for the sky here. There is a tremendous amount of light and it's about 80 degrees F and maybe 70% humidity.

Don't believe anyone who says that no2 denim doesn't fade nicely!

I purchased these in November of 2009. When I've worn them, I've worn them continuously. The only breaks were in the coldest weather in NYC when I had some Wind element samurais, or days when I wore shorts or when these were in for repair. I got them back today from either their 4th or 5th repair. Repairs have been performed to both hems (at a fold line), the crotch (many times), both pockets, the patch, the lap, belt loops, the rear pocket where I have my wallet, the material over the fly, and possibly other places that I didn't notice.

Obligitory composed photos of said jeans on top of deprecated steam pipe on my roof:

Notice two back pocket repairs on the right back pocket

Back texture and honeycombs. I wear these pretty loose - a no2 size 38 is probably a "regular" size above what I would ordinarily wear. 37" waist anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Probably 3-4 aggregate crotch repairs (thank you self edge!!!!!)

just a few more notables:

Leather patch:

I swear, this fold over the red tab was TOTALLY natural:

More props to self edge, repairs that were needed but that I didn't even specifically request:

And a final texture detail:

I've owned several evisu heritage jeans, and none of them touch the MIJ denim

Hope I didn't ask this, or someone else did, but what is the #5 denim compared to all the others? Just asking out of curiosity.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, Evisu International used it recently on at least one of their 'Private Stock' models...I'm not sure about the denim itself, but the PS models are Evisu 'flagship' models for the non-Japanese market.

For those in the UK, Selfridges have a number of models reduced instore now to £49, including one of the 20th anniversary models in a 2008 cut...tried on a pair and the fit was on point, just don't need the denim...

Yeah mate, they're the same denim - and they made a couple more models from it, the Hotei jeans being one of them, and I think their Sasupenda jeans used it, too. Think mine and the brown box were the only ones made in a slim cut...

Great denim, soft to the touch and eventually gives up some subtle fades.

Happy days. Someone was selling a pair of brown box in the supermarket and I grabbed them. Was hoping it was the same denim, that green cast makes them turn out special.

Yeah, I've got a pair of the Brown Box in my denim reserves haha, all for when I finally shift another inch or two...my LVC 505s are also crying out to be worn :D

The UK crowd in here could do worse than check out their local TK Maxx, as I found these today (bought for resale value only, ha!)

There are probably about 200 pairs in the Inverness tk maxx. They will have no idea what they are and their distribution is garbage.
