Evisu is still loved!

so you just used ordinary acrylic paint mixed with water or pure?

and did you iron it after painting to fix the paint?

Angelus acrylic leather paint - tried normal acrylic but the consistency wasn't good (too thick), and fabric-specific acrylics looked too watery to use.

And yeah, used a hairdryer whilst painting and an iron once done...getting them (nearly) symmetrical was the hard part...

About the early EVIS-tabs.

They were intentionally made and not some old Levi's tabs where they eliminated the "L", right?

I've got an LVC tab in my hands right now and I'm thinking about removing the "L" but the whole writing seems to be connected on the backside of the tab.

Any ideas, suggestions?

They were made and i dont know if you will get away with it both beucase it might mean the rest might become lose and because it might just look strange where the L used to be.

On another note i got some evisu tshirts this week.

http://international.evisu.com/collections/sale-mens/products/t-shirt-2

http://international.evisu.com/collections/sale-mens/products/ess10gmts90

And another thats not listed on the site.

ON a worse note it seems evisu online is now selling LOT 2000! jeans (Japanese i assume by the inside tags.) However only NO.3 denim! (Apparently no3 is no.2 without the selvedge or so they say!)

http://international.evisu.com/collections/fit-mens-2000

ON another side note i want this

http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/m74769602

It seems to explain all the patches and all the lables evisu used right from the start.

that was my concern too.

about the big space/gap. Isn't that also the case with the original Evis tabs?!

Or I think I saw it somewhere in that style...mhh

CTB - Nice bit of arts n craft there ;)

Warakia - Anymore pics of your 0005's ?

Re. No.1 or No.2, this has cropped up before on this thread.

If you got the money (and don't need it for anything else) get No.1s. Otherwise you may get No.2, then down the line be wondering what if...

It's difficult to justify the huge price difference, but it is the Number 1 denim!

My sizing for No.1s 2000:

TTS, if your skinny (plus stretching whilst wet)

+1 for slim fit (plus stretching whilst wet)

+2 for normal/regular straight.

I'll snap some pictures tomorrow, just gave them a soak because the weather here in Japan is so hot they were getting dirty as shit. I see your point about the No.1 denim, seems the 2005 cut which I'm most interested in only comes in No.2 though. I guess the choice is already made for me then;) .

Yes that is the style i just think you might be left with a few holes on where the L is currently.

Paulo I have that magazine plus 4 or 5 others from 03 to the latest issue. I love looking at them its just a pity only sections here and there have an english translation

Can you take some better pictures of those pages please? It would be interesting to see.

The newer denim comes with that inside tag. BTW, those are in fact selvedge, and are apparently a new fit (based off the Japanese 2000 cut). Pretty awesome. Here's some actual fit pics.

And what the fuck is a 'Japenese fit'?! Do they employ the same proof-reader as the International Evisu site?
LOL. I noticed that. Also, what's a Japanese fit?

Also, they appear to be d85.

Probably not, the one's at barney's were slim-fit or skinny. I think they were these:

Yamane i guess i shouldn't be surprised Yamane is a money grabbing idiot. All this time he has managed to keep the international and japanese line separate and now hes signed a new contract they can piss all over it.

It's D85/International No.3 denim, isn't it?

I'm not sure but the words 'epileptic' and 'Tokyo' spring to mind!

I think it's to fool the unwary into believing that they are actually made in Japan Evisu.

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind as well. I'd like to purchase some jeans in an English fit, next time I'm looking for a pair...:)

the cuffs on those jeans look fucking awful, too...and I'm not sure why they keep on listing jeans as having 'painted' gulls when they're not...

Question about 2001: these Macau No.1 Specials are a mid rise. Is the Japanese cut the same, or is it vintage rise?

Also, if anyone is interested in some size 36 Harvest gulls in D85, lmk. I got them during the end-of-season sale, so 160 plus shipping would be cool. I am trying to budget in the pair of Ooe Yofukutens I want.

My No.1 2001s have a front rise of 12", if that's any use to you...and my No.2 2004s come in at 13ish...

It's ballpark, Ben, thanks man. Can't rep cos you're always on my short list :D

I noticed a question on another board about a mid-rise slim/straight cut, with minimal to no taper. The 200 cut is the only close one I can think of.

As far as i know the licence agreement with Yamane (who is also a pretty dodgy one) is in 5 year terms. If this is still true they would of renewed it around early 2009.

At this point is where i guess Yamane allowed them more freedom. Previously he did not allow them to use names such as Labor, or the Japanese cuts and so on.

It stopped them replicating the Japanese jeans and to some extent ruining the brands history.

To be fair, I'm liking the way that some of the old Labor/Stylecraft/etc designs and logos have been popping up on some of the International tees...say what you will about the International jeans, but they've produced some superb tees over the years and that's what I tend to keep my eyes open for these days as they normally go for a pauper's price of fuck-all quid on eBay...

But I agree that the brand's history could end up being devalued when used on some of the International products...
