Lucky Line 40401 Secure-A-Key
Anywhere that copies keys should have them for a few bucks. I got mine at Home Depot, iirc. As I said earlier, I like it cause the keys don't hang down as low and there's no stress being put on your belt loops.

thanks for quick info! I fucked up and already ordered one off amazon; $8ish shipped was cheap enough for me. I just bought a pair of DH and I don't see the belt loop holding up to more than a month of stress from keys of any weight, so this should be a great compromise.

MMMM loving that endura.

And a little late, I don't always EDC this, usually goes in my car or my backpack, but I use it for mixing up powdered gatorade (i only make it half strength) and protein shakes. Might give me cancer but it's convenient, and actually mixes the powder because of the metal ball thingy.

Have to agree with the others here, that colorway is really nice on the endura, Ken. Was it a sprint run?

I haven't made any update in this thread for quite a while, so here's a massive post with all my recent EDC-related purchases.

First, since I'll be getting back on my bike soon, I decided to get a backpack to replace my messenger for the coming months. I don't know much about non-designer bags, and few designers make backpacks/bike packs so I decided to go for a sure value and order a TAD gear lite pack. Got a morale patch too, to "customize" it a little

Got the sharpmaker as some of my knives are getting pretty dull. I tried it on my sog flash, it did an incredible job. Also tried it on a cheap chef knife that wasn't worth bringing to a specialist. It did help, but it was almost blunt from the beginning so I guess you can't do miracles. Great buy IMO

Paracord is from MAframe on Ebay, I'm no expert, but it's fine by my standards, and cheap

Next, I got the TAD gear shemagh. I liked the skull and crossbone pattern so I decided to cut the shemaghy parts off and only keep the centre to use as an handkerchief.

The twitch 2 is actually a gift for my friend who was beastin over my flash. I threw a Baliyo in the order too, I didn't have any pen and this one shall keep my hands busy when I'm bored at job.

The 530 was kind of an impulse buy... I never liked benchmade designs, but this one really caught my eye since it reminds me of an OTF knife. Great design, nice blade shape, super light and also has the infamous penis clip. All in all, I really like it, Axis is indeed awesome as most of you guys pointed out, and this will most likely become my main EDC blade.

And finally, the Snody shank is a blade I leave in my apartment for tasks that require a stronger knife. I'll soon try to press a kydex sheath to attach it to one of the backpack's strap, I'd like to bring this one when I go hiking.

So I guess that's it for now. I'm most likely going to sell some knives soon, as I don't want to build a crazy collection. I'll let you guys know first if I do :o

^ awesome stuff. that snody looks so ghetto B)

anyway, last night I came home for spring break and my dad gave me this

76767054.jpg

Iono if you guys know yet, but I'm Filipino.. and my dad's side is from Batangas, which is like the Laguiole of balisongs. So I guess this counts as a "FHM." It's older than me (my dad carried it in maybe.. 6th grade throughout his youth, as most Batangueño males had to.. otherwise you weren't cool or tough lol) so it does have a little bit of wear. it opens smoothly and there isn't too much play either. it's only like 3" blade length.. brass handles w/ caribou tusk inserts w/ pin construction.

i've been flipping it all morning.. luckily it isn't razor sharp anymore otherwise i'd be bleeding all over haha. my dad is proficient in horizontal open and latch dropping, so once again my dad proves that he's cooler than me smh. oh, he also took out a quarter and slammed the knife into it and lifted the quarter up from the tip of the blade, the point was still perfect. he said that's how you can tell it's made in batangas.

i'm sorta contemplating buying a newer, bigger one to start flipping with, but i could also use an actual camera.. decisions :(

You have to watch his dedicated forums on bladeforum or USN, he has sales reminiscent of Atwood's every now and then. His "build-your-own-shank" are usually the best value.

Awesome bali btw, Brane. Blades with a story like that are the best.

edit: damnit, must spread rep... I need to get out of this thread, I can't rep any of you guys anymore

ti military is that upcoming spyderco?? ken is lusting for that one too

i'd also want a 29 knives but i think i would settle for a benchmade or something at this point. ideally i'd want one made in batangas but w/ modern materials -- i don't know how the hell i could get anything like that. maybe a palacio custom -_-

are 29 knives filipino handmade? 29 (beintenuebe) is supposed to have a lot of meanings right.. like 29cm is the "official" overall length of a standard balisong (this is mad illegz tho) and a flip warrior killed 29 ppl w/ one?

i'm interested in the history and culture of this stuff but i doubt there's enough information online, i'd prob have to ask a local in batangas about it. :|

anyway enough balisong hype B)

Knowing the Philippines, they can fabricate ANYTHING... Oddly enough.

I'm sure if you knew where to get the materials, found the right places/people, you can get a balisong made to your spec.

On an unrelated note... I enjoy the title/ small ass word play (a space) with Filipino band Rivermaya's Bali Song.

That's all.

200... i got mine for 160. you can most definitely find it for cheaper though.

i'm selling my bm30 SPL for $160 shipped if anyone is interested.

looks like this one here, but without the swedge, comboe edge and o-ring on t-latch. does not come with pouch or box.

specs here

du, i just sold my BM 42. shoulda discussed balisongs sooner. 42's are discontinued and getting harder to find ad a sub 200 price range.

should look into bradley

dawg, i don't know where you've been, but i've made a few balisong posts before.

EDC for cottage country. Blades become more burly :)

The tracker is great for all around grunt work. We ran into a lot of fallen trees on the trail - was great for clearing away all the sharp, pointy branches...

No cell phone as there is no reception up there!

sup craftsmen, I figure I have more success posting this here than tumblr.

tumblr_kznm3s9ize1qakd6ho1_500.jpg

I want to try and make this except one that would hold 2 keys (home keys), and one without buttons of course. I figure I can squeeze in the other key on the other side, and use a similar sort of joint that this key fob uses, where it would lock into place and retract only when I push the button there that opens the joint.

But I don’t know what to Google. I tried “spring loaded key fob” but only came up with a bunch of cool car key fobs, and no info on how to make one. Anyone have any sort of information on how to do this, or where to look?

I think having an assisted open multikey would just complicate and bulken things. It would probably be more reliable, slimmer, and simpler to just do a standard micra multikey mod. just sayin.
