Womens F/W 2014 has been exceptionally strong so far. Rick, Dries, Yohji, Haider, UC, Jil and Marant have been stand outs for me so far, with Haider probably being the favorite. Only collections that left me a bit disappointed was Ann and Celine.

 

On another note, I'm starting to wonder if making a sub-forum for collections was the right move. For all the work bill's doing posting these collections it's kind of a shame that they seemingly go unnoticed. Almost makes me want to make sweeping generalizations on sufu's evolution, but I'm not there yet.

your sweeping generalizations wouldn't be undue, or do you really think a significant minority of the people who want to view and discuss these collections in the first place would even consider coming here to do either?

 

my only complaint about the threads right now concerns how the collections are presented in them

to be frank, the images found here just don't meet the standards that have been established by other websites

i don't want details to be hidden by meager resolution and obscured by compression artifacts when i view a collection

using PNGs or even higher quality JPGs which contain links to larger images would be an improvement, but as you said, is it even worth doing when the effort will go largely unappreciated?

so you are saying that i should hotlink the 640x480 pictures of style.com like other websites do instead of uploading the HQ ones and resizing them in a 800x600 format?

you are welcomed to email all the PR companies to tell them to send high quality PNGs and JPGs my way so i can upload them for big formats and thumbnails so i won't have to spend my time saving all the pictures, sorting out the good detail shots, renaming everything, uploading the whole lot and post everything on superfuture.

 

or you can do it yourself if you really want to! members can post collections too!

i think you can see it's not a matter of what's allowed; you've already claimed this as your territory, so there's no point in anyone posting the same collections when whoever minds the size and quality of the images views them elsewhere

 

you must believe it's a superfluous issue, but posting whole collections here when better images are available on so many other websites is already superfluous

although i am a moderator, this section isn't 'mine'. it's a part of superfuture and belongs to the members of the board.

the can post what they want in it, but if the content doesn't belong here, then it gets moved or deleted.

 

why post pictures of the collections? because it's nice to have everything in one place and not have to search through all the websites to get what you want. the format of the pictures are bigger than the ones on sz but the quality is the fucking same. also the same for every other website who don't get them straight from the brands or pr agencies.

The quality and clearness of the pictures is another thing. The quality of the pictures posted on style.com or fashionising aren't the best and I cannot change this.

 

i also don't post certain collections and the reason is because i do not care about those designers.

edit: about posting collections and the discussions (of therefore lack of): one of my goal with superfashion and posting collections is to generate discussions about the designers and their garments. if you comment about them in the threads, the people are mostly going to do the same thing.

I've already started a thread in superofficial that as of posting hasn't received any responses, also sent you a PM on the 10th about the same issue, but you never replied. I'm just posting because I hope this gets resolved, I don't even know if I'm just the only one experiencing this issue.
