Shit talking is what separates us from the rest of the forums and keeps us human. I've seen people rise from worst WAYWT to best WAYWT in the sufu hate-furnace. I realize Superfuture has this outside pressure to keep some sort of professional veneer on the discourse, but if enough people get banned, I might set up shop elsewhere. Everyone who isn't banned will be fucking clueless and numb, I wouldn't care if they stayed here.

They can keep asking where they can cop Common Projects for cheap and how to get rid of the mustard stain in their Nudies. As far as I know, the old and elite posters aren't doing anything here but hooking people up with insights on new brands and selling their used shit to random herbs and urchins who registered a week ago to cop an old Dior piece, only to wear it with a pair of Eternals and Trickers. You probably wouldn't have half the competition for a pair of DBSS hi-tops on Y! if sharpservice didn't start a thread on supermarket.

What happened to soraatalk? It's difficult to get momentum to move there because everyone's already here, but you put enough people on the chopping block, this forum won't just be losing kidneys, it'll be losing limbs. Supertalk was way more fun before that first round of bans. I'm sure the real old posters ala 2004 will tell me it was best back then, though. I wouldn't know.

But this forum is moving slowly but surely toward The Fashion Spot territory. There's no longer any substantive criticism in the designer threads. Just a chorus of people saying "this is so good" or "this sucks", then page after page of noobs asking where to cop and how amazing the jacket looked at Blackbird.

Who do we have to impress? Membership is way up and I'm certain it has very little to do with banning westside. This forum's increasing momentum is hardly impeded by the friction in the trash.

I've gotten infractions - recently - from mods who were doing their job and I didn't, and wouldn't, call them douches.

in ancient times, we knew exactly which mod did what. now more often than not we don't know.

i was a victim the great ban of 07 (i think). many campaigned for my amnesty and had constantly sweated the mods as to why i had been banned. i presume there was a misunderstanding (on the part of the mods/wayne), and wayne had me reinstated (that very day) because that ban was not a just one.

i didn't really know toto and the situation, so i can't really say much about his banning, but if you guys really want someone unbanned all you gotta do is sweat the mods or go through other channels OFF THE INTERNET.

...and honestly i personally ain't losing sleep over sportfreak, but i don't think he broke any rules. so i am curious as to why a ben was executed.

I can talk about soraatalk like I can talk about any other place. SZ, tfs, 5thd, askandy, styleforum, hypebeast, honest forum, mynudies, mens.style.com, niketalk. The bottom line is, they all fucking ride on supertalk's shoulders. Supermarket is the best place to cop jawns, hands down. Hypebeast and SZ are better for those more niche crowds, but Superfuture is the only place I know of that embraces such a plurality of aesthetics, and still talks the most shit to the great, clueless unwashed. That hate is a favor. Any thread that blows up here, I see it ripple into one forum after another. Lanvin sneaks -----> NY Times style article. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, maybe the Lanvin thing started on hypebeast.

j- I was talking to toto online earlier and he said he made the sportsfreak thread, and a mod told him to "back off" or something like that. He posted more about sportsfreak i guess not knowing why he was banned, and then he got banned. Gets lifted in a month but it's still lame. Saying why sportsfreak got banned would've prevented this.

Doesn't one of those lame forums like SA or 4chan have some running thing with a list of banned members and a reason? Not because they have to justify it, but so people at least know what happened?
