007 Quantum of Solace

This movie came out in Taiwan today (a week before the states).

It wasn't as good as Casino Royale. I recommend you re-watch Casino Royale before you watch this. The movie picks up a couple of hours after Casino Royale ends.

It's pretty confusing if you want this movie to make sense. It doesn't make sense immediately. You really have to abstractly think about things to make it make sense. In that aspect, it's kind of a bad movie.

The length is perfect though. Casino Royale was kind of weird in that you think the movie should end after Lake Como, but it continues into Venice for another 30 minutes.

Quantum doesn't have this kind of situation, so it's nice.

The action sequences are pretty good, but almost all of it involves chasing something, or running away.

will bump in 1 week.

I want to see this really bad..

Is it as stylish as the first Craig film? I felt like every other post-90's Bond flick was trying so hard to be chic, but Casino Royale really pulled it off. How are the cars? I heard there were more gadgets in this one.. Bah, I have so many questions that I should just wait to find out the answers to.

Daniel Craig = L'homme.

I watch a lot of movies watched a lot of james bond movies, like a lot of them, really liked casino royale and the 'new bond' but this movie its a bigger let down than the 2nd pirates of the carribean.

Laff' date=' how can this movie be worse than Die Another Day, or even Tomorrow Never Dies or The World Is Not Enough. I think that's impossible.[/quote']

this will be the first bond film i see in theatres. Daniel craig makes for a badass Bond. Pierce Brosnan was a snizz.

Good ol' Pierce wasn't THAT bad, it's just that he was more of a pretty boy than say Daniel Craig. Yet even with that said, you cannot deny that Goldeneye was a great Bond film and brought life back into the legacy after that long hiatus in which the last film was License To Kill with Timothy Dalton. I have love for Dalton in The Living Daylights but I can't even front and say License To Kill was a good film as far as Bond movies go.

Haha many agree with you on that. But think about it' date=' Dame Judy Dench is like really fucking old. I'm sure she won't be around for many more.[/quote']

yeah i know, but it was the same situation with m, q, etc all the old boy gang.

they keep replacing james bond, with different actors, why didn't they just do the same?

why even bother to introduce a new character instead of replacing a staple one with another actor?

so I'm bound to get negged for this, like I did when I didnt shit my pants over the dark knight, but I though casino royal was pretty average.

I realise they are trying to go back to the roots of bond, making him out to be a hard arse and shit, but the daniel craig bonds just arnt camp/cheesey enough for me. Where are the wierd rocket packs, and crazy henchmen, gimmicky cars, etc. At least the Brosman films had that shit...

well it ain't the swinging 60s no more. i liked roger moore's comedic bond of the late 70s/early 80s. maybe it's due to the age we/the film are in. plus i can't picture craig do comedy...

Well the thing with James Bond actors is that they obviously age and become too old for the part or uninterested after doing so many. But it seems like the actors/actresses who play M, Q, or even Moneypenny seem to still hold interest in appearing in the films. If John Cleese or Judy Dench aged, at this point in their life, wouldn't you say you would hardly notice because they are already fairly old? Yet since Daniel Craig isn't too old, it's a lot easier to notice his aging. Take Roger Moore for instance, when he first started doing Bond films he was 45 and in his last film as Bond he was 58 and you could CLEARLY see how old he had gotten. After a while wouldn't you say enough is enough, this dude is too old to be a steezy British secret agent doing all these mind-blowing missions, all the while bedding several attractive woman so effortlessly?

Well the key thing you said was that they are trying to go back to the roots of Bond and in the Bond stories, Q was rarely mentioned and James Bond didn't really rely on gadgets to get things done. Although in the films, it sorta became a staple to have some over the top new technology for 007 to incorporate into his assignments, but since Casino Royale, Q and all the gadgetry have taken a hiatus which is more true to Ian Fleming's work. I mean do you remember the fucking invisible car in Die Another Day? That was just getting out of hand.

DAMN, LOTS OF RANTING.
