007 Quantum of Solace

As others have said, Quantum of Solace played like an action movie, e.g. something out of the Bourne series. I felt that all the fast-paced traveling scenes, escape sequences and brutal Bond-inflicted beatings ultimately left something to be desired. The Goldfinger style murder with oil rather than gold was low hanging fruit and I thought the opening title sequence animation was kind of lame.

People are talking about expectations. I think the grittier style of Casino Royale set up the Craig Bond movies to be better than the almost hilariously formulaic run of the films throughout most of the series. We're only into film 2 and this is the best they could do?

But watching any Bond movie on the big screen is a guaranteed good time. At least my expectations are down for film 3. Hopefully they surprise me...

And I enjoyed it, though it was far from a standalone movie. You need CR to enjoy it, even a little.

Needs the next one out to finish this shit off.

i didn't have much expectations going in cos typical girl here i just wanted to see daniel in action..and olga is an added bonus (i thought she was hot in max payne) but i did like it..even if the storyline is a bit "eh"

what i didn't like was seeing so much ford..the aston is arite cos you expect fancy little toys like that but beyond the first scene there wasn't much.

which reminds me, is it just me or are they having less and less spy stuff or cool new toys that has technological capabilities beyond what is available to the immediate public..?

They're trying to stick more to Flemming's plot (Bond didn't have any special toys to help him) rather than let Q go crazy

I rewatched this movie, and I thought it was on par.

The pace was on spot, and the combination of Olga and Gemma made the movie a bit better, imo.

Gemma does have a gorgeous backside, if I may say so.
