There was definitely a lot more thought going into it when I first started my blog and when I first transfered it to tumblr. I still get 90 or so hits a day to my old blog even though I haven't posted anything other than personal work for a few years.

what can SC tell you that GA can't I'm wondering.

because I can find out their location, language, operating system, browser, screen resolution, flash version, java version, service provider, connection speed, etc.

SC is garbage as far as I'm concerned. It's outdated.

and as far as sourcing goes I look at it not as getting credit for finding something (unless I made it obviously), but as a viewer knowing where something came from. Dope images without sources are sort of useless to me to be honest. They're just fodder for more tumblrs I guess which is what tumblr is to most people anyway.

I guess I still have a bit of the 'blog' mentality that I'm supposed to be showing the viewers something. I hate seeing something cool and never finding out what the fuck it is. This also sucks for whoever created it. I'm taking the internet too seriously and blah blah, but yeah.

I think tits sit outside of this, but I still link for all my images just cause that's what I'm doing.

When I said earlier "fuck people who don't source" I don't mean source from another tumblr I mean the actual source from an image. Like who said a quote, what movie your screencap is from, who made the content, what the content is et cetera.

In regards to me wanting to see who clicked through to sources I'm not wondering if I get reblogged by 10 different people and they click back to my tumblr, I'm wondering if they click through the source listed in the description, which leads to more information on the image. It just sometimes seems that people like something for who posted it and not what was posted.

Also I realize these huge paragraphs make me seem like I care a whole lot, but it's more just general curiosity... I just can't type concisely.

I agree that i want sources so i can find out more about something I found interesting, and that includes tits. I often see a good photo of a girl and it doesn't even have a name. There's also no excuse for it on tumblr, it puts the via in automatically - you physically have to edit it out to not show the source!

amardeep ga definitely always does that. you just have to click on that source. it's not a link. they just shorten it to the base URL for you referral page. this way it can group the visits from one site. cluck on whatever.com and the it'll have whatever.com, whatever.com/page/2, whatever.com/porn, etc.

ie. if I click on ffffound.com I get

picture3sr.png

also, graphics and art and stuff are the most important to link imo. tits are ubiqitious, but posting someone's art/design/etc without linking is stupid. That's the type of stuff where I'm going to click-through to see the artist/designer/etc.

Yeah same, but when I get linked on random forums like somethingawful or what.cd i'm pretty interested to find out where/why. This is all for DenimWiki though, I don't really care about where tumblr views are coming from as it's usually just from a reblog

As for sourcing - I'm pretty interested in that because all my stuff is original - at least with tumblr it's really easy to reblog (and maintain references to things)

some sites like yimmy yayo not only don't attribute, but you can't even see the notes to see who originally posted it

sc always seemed inflated, like it was tracking pageviews instead of uniques.

yeah that's annoying. I always give credit now, btw jermaine I had no idea how many of billy's posts are just reblogged from secret indictments

lol 7 posts, just searched it.

chilllll

the fucked up thing is the blue wolf pic blew up for some reason on mine instead of his.

not a good look to boast that you get 7 or 8 new followers, then ask them why their tumblrs suck compared to yours. esp when you're just blogging tits and jawnz, when there are tons of tumblrs with tits and jawnz

and fyi, i haven't posted in a while either:

i see what you mean. it is frustrating sometimes when you see a cool movie cap or a picture of a band and you don't know what movie/band it could be. and usually when you ask the person don't even know a thing about it.

i try to tag pictures with what it acutally is most of the time. not that i care about the whole tagging thing, but when you see something cool you don't know and want to know more then you can't if there's no tag or source.

that being said, i among countless others, just post random pictures i've collected and 99% of the time i don't know the original source at all. that'd be great if there was something embedded in the image that would trace where it comes from or something.

someone who is good at html, how do i get rid of the frames in this theme(where the photo posts are)?

I'm trying to do this too., but there's no img border statement anywhere in my theme's code. Where do i throw it in dum?

Don't really give a fuck. If they wanna unfollow they can unfollow. It's not boasting, I just have a feeling it's spam.

I'm just wondering how 16 year olds that post corny quotes find Diglett, as Diglett is nothing like that.

And I didn't mean suck compared to mine. I just meant suck in general. I'm not sugarcoating shit, most of their blogs suck dick. Shit, that last one is a 12 year old indonesian girl what the fuck

i reckon it's the same for everyone. some of my followers are very lame 12yo indonesian too, weird japanese text-only blogs, i've got foot fetish tumblr, one about dicks... i mean it's not like it mattered. if no one followed, if only cool tumblrs followed, if only 12yo indonesian girls followed, i'd still do the same shit.

think about the bright side, the content of your tumblr can attract a vast audience !
