Is anyone else out there a Final Fantasy fan?

I'm not just talking about the recent 3D releases for PS2, but Final Fantasy's 1-6 (In Japan).. the hardcore 2D glory that it used to be.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core just came out last month for PSP, and it rocks & rolls. Final Fantasy Tactics: A2 came out just a few weeks ago and I've yet to get that powerhouse of a game, but I hear amazing things.

Now in just two days a totally remade version of the Super Famicom Final Fantasy IV is releasing. It seems as though a new FF game is releasing every few months now.

Certainly a great time for any Square Enix fan out there.

I agree though. We need dark plots and beefy characters.

Gouf, did you beat Tactics? I got stuck and got really pissed and never played again. I've beaten FF7 and played like two discs of FF9 in japanese before giving up.

I got FFIII for DS yesterday. It sure picks up a lot as the story progresses.

I for one am totally grateful I can play I&II, IV, V, and VI on GBA. I slap those son of' a guns in my Game Boy Micro and go along playing them without a customer or employee knowing any better about my lack of hard working. (Gimme a break.. its a slow season).

I haven't played a new FF game since FF8. They keep making these feckless pussies for main characters and S/E's FF producer saying "that won't change anytime soon" will not make me buy a S/E game "anytime soon". The Xenosaga and Mana series' are more interesting to me now.

I'm all for a resurrection of FF7 or possibly just a remake. That might temp me to buy a PS3.

Enjoyed 4 and 6 through 9 back when. Haven't played it since though. Apart from FFT that is, that shit's amazing.

I also laughed at the comic and gamefaqs never ceases to amuse me. The reactions after that E3 announcement were gold.

Yeah i've beaten tactics twice. First time I got it for ps1 when I was a kid and just ran through it with youthful brazen but I got the psp one earlier this year and royally fed my dick to that game dry swallow. Seriously, if you had any fun with it in the past youd probably regain the feeling by giving it another go. That and FF7 were masterpieces.. I beat 7 twice too, but the 2nd time i cheated with my friends gameshark and immediate limitbreaks cause I just wanted to get with the story again.

FF8 was fairly good too even though thats when you first see the romantic aspect of the story take more than a supporting role. I got to the very last boss and never fought her, dunno why just went on to some other shit like XENOGEARS or something

I just picked up Final Fantasy Tactics: War of The Lions for the PSP.

Final Fantasy tactics is one of the last modern series of FF games that are worth playing at all. Stays very true to the original's game play and artistic design.

Why can't Square just do a really high-res 2D game for once? All we get now are crappy 3D worlds with bad control schemes and over complicated game play mechanics.

I honestly just want to go back to the 16 bit days. The only thing that mattered to me then was Super Nintendo versus Sega Genesis.

I'm waiting for my copy of FFVI for GBA to arrive in the mail. I played that on SNES (Called FFIII here in the US), and it was the best Final Fantasy I have ever played.

Just pick up FF Tactics Advance for GBA for now. You should be able to find that at any Gamestop used. Great game.

The series really fell off after FFVIII for me, I never got around to playing FFIX, although i heard it was good.

FFX sucked absolute fucking balls, so I didn't bother picking up XII.

I will always remember FFVI. Despite FFIX getting mad hateraded, I really enjoyed it.

I can't stand the new ones though…hardly enough to stomach the entire game nowadays.

FFXII was nice but in a twist, needed more story. FFIX was great. FFVIII was definitely my least favorite of the polygon FFs.

I'm all about Tactics myself so I'm enjoying the love I'm seeing on here.

If any of you had a hard fucking time killing Wiegraf/Velius during that one-on-one battle holla at me, shit was harder then anything else in that game if you didn't know the right strategy. I had to fucking make myself a monk and run around the map like a bitch, wasting my turns YELLING/ACCUMULATING in order to buff myself out enough to finally use that Earth Slide attack to fuck him up.
