Difference between '47 '55 and '66???

I'm looking to buy a pair of Sugar Canes and I was wondering how each of the years differ? It seems like alot of people on these boards like the 1947's but I was wondering how these fit? I like my jeans somewhat loose and the leg opening to be decently sized. What are the main differences between 47, 55, and 66 and which of the models are the loosest fit and have the biggest leg openings? Thanks in advance!

According to another STer, the 47's have a 17" leg opening. That can change after stretching/shrinking however.

Not sure about the sizing of other years though.

47 leg is slim, (tapered down thru thigh, straight thereafter), 55 is looser fit, 66 is a drainpipe (especially the current LVC). If you can though, try them on...

The 47s leg opening will change depending on the size of the jeans, but the 47s are a straight leg fit.

I live in the US so I was probably gonna buy my sugarcanes at historypreservation. But I looked on Rakuten and came across the "standard 1947"?? (http://www.rakuten.co.jp/vari/581284/581636/#568203) The size of the leg and leg opening look alot bigger than the one on the historypreservation website. Are these the same pairs or my eyes playing tricks on me?

I'm quite sure those pics are taken at an angle, therefore making the bottom of the legs seem wider. Don't worry, they don't look like that.

lol...actually I kinda wanted them to look like that..i like the leg openings to be a little bit larger..does anyone know if the 55's have larger leg openings than the '47?

the 55s have a looser fit and wider leg throughout the whole pant, not just the leg opening.

I have a pair of 55's which fit quite well. Would say they're a relaxed fit on me not to loose. Was thinking about a pair of 47's and was just wondering if they would be to tight.

Also, the denim on the 55's is a darker indigo blue color than the '47's. After a couple of cold water washings my 55's are still super dark.

Doesn't this page show the proper leg opening measurements on the '47s?

So a size 30 would have an opening of 21cm.
