fyi maggots arent commonly used in medical practice. I think the pic is fake or that guy is actually dead.

Judging by the extent of maggot infestation, hes got massive necrosis all over his lower leg and probably wet gangrene which at that extent would probably result septicaemia (a fucking terrible bloodstream infection.)

For sure if that dude was still alive he'd have his lower leg amputated at least at or above the knee level. But they'd have to put him on stupid amounts of antibiotics. I'm also almost positive at this stage the infection in the leg would have spread to his bloodstream. Theres probably a good chance this guy didn't make it.
