Is it true that the size chart for the 301s at the SE website is not accurate? I saw an ad in the supermarket the other day of a pair in size 30 that had a waist of 31".

^nope. It's accurate, but IH denim stretches real fast so if they were worn at all there should be some stretching.

@sunkenshoes- i'd dare to say that SE's measurements are probably as good, if not better than those of IH japan, as they have the largest amount to sell and sometimes measurements may be a bit off. Kiya makes correct measurements basically. and i am guessing the pair you are looking at were worn, so yeah, as panther said, stretched a tad.

they stretch out ridiculously fast with wear....

My 301S stretched out the 1"-1.5" after a week of hard wear. The rest of the stretching is left to the other places (thighs) but really the waist stretches out the fastest.

it is accurate.

the 301 stretch fast at the waist, that´s the truth.

i downed one from my natural waist size. 31 to tagged 30.

i have very fit tighs. so it is the perfect choice for to have the slim fit.

it is the deal for the sizing down with the 301.

look at the tighs, it is much more important than the waist.

choose the jeans with the tighs mesurements is my rule!

go back around march 2009 on this thread, it can help you...

the 301 and the 9301 are fantastic slim fit jeans. amazing!
