^^ thanks for the suggestions

but what I meant was : mac book pro + a small lightweight machine

I'd say 10" is probably the minimum for the latter requirement

the models you posted are a bit too small

I think I'll just get a 15" pro after the refresh

and wait for something interesting to copp

I see, if the Macbook Air's footpring isnt too big, go for it. Its not uber fast, but will do the job done and you wont have to live with using 2 different OSes.

not feeling the air

border around the display is too thick

and the way the ports fold up is lame

plus, only has 1 USB port and the keyboard isn't nice like the pro

anyways, it seems lots of companies are entering the 'netbook' market

something ill is bound to release soon

Does anyone know what laptops beside from Macs have like a metal type casing?.

I've never seen any other laptop besides a Mac with aluminum casing, but I would recommend a Thinkpad if you're worried about the construction quality.

Thinkpad's (excluding the R series) have a magnesium roll cage inside, and the lid is built from a plastic composite (it's good quality, and feels some what like metal). The plastic is better than aluminum for wireless strength. The hinges on Thinkpad's are metal though, no other laptop compares to the sturdiness of those.

Both Thinkpad's and Mac's are worth the money though, I personally wouldn't buy any other laptop.
