i started playing ffiv when i came out (for ds.) Probably have only gotten through 5% of it though as I don't play very much. Looks good so far.

do these roms generally play well? like, as well as you'd expect an actual bought version to?

Yea. It's the exact same thing. They didn't remake the game or anything. Just took the info from the cartridge and put it on the internet. You can download it and put it on your own cartridge if you please. Good as new

Yeah, cool. I can just remember from my days downloading NES and SNES roms that sometimes you'd come accross roms that would either play really sketchy or just fuck up completely at a certain point.

I think I might have to buy one.

It's cool, man. I have played a bunch of games on my r4 for ds and have yet to encounter a single problem. Just update the kernel every once in awhile to make sure you the updates that fix specific issues. I just downloaded dragon quest iv last week but haven't had time to play it. Probably won't for awhile. I want to finish it before december when mother 3 project will probably finish.

Kirby's cool and all, but this is sort of what I dislike about the DS game development. A lot of the games coming out are "deluxe remakes" of old games with some bells and whistles in places. I just happen to enjoy kirby as mindless fun but seriously, space invaders? arkanoid? Call me an unappreciative young whippersnapper, but I'd much rather see some more original development.

On that note, I'm pissed that there still isn't an elite beat agents 2. If that game isn't in development I'm going to continue to be mildly angry at nintendo.

I'm a sucker for remakes... especially if it means I can play the SNES games I played over and over again as a kid, on the go! I don't care how milked it is...

can't wait for Chrono Trigger DS!

now if they made a Super Mario RPG DS, I would... I don't know what I'd do.

Bought a R4 card while in Seoul for 30 bucks with a 2 gig card. Can load about 50 roms. So far its been straight donkey kong, mario, mario kart and metal slug. The World Ends with You is pretty good too, as are all the final fantasy ports.
