Tony Yayo Attacks Ghostface

Everyone has probably heard of this already

I took a section out of the interview with SPIN magazine, read up.

I bolded some Ghostface parts for those who don't like to read.

What about the MCs -- Chamillionaire, Ghostface Killah, Master P -- who have said that they're not going to curse in their music anymore, in response to the post-Imus outcry?

None of those people sell records.

Chamillionaire sold more than a million records.

Let him go sell gospel records, if he's so fuckin' righteous. I can write around the curses if I want to, but you can't tell me to write around the curses. First of all, there's a clean version of the record available, anyway, if people don't want to hear that content. This is adult entertainment. Why is pornography legal? Wouldn't you say that the women who do pornography are hos? They get paid $1,000 to fuck on tape. You understand? And we can't say 'ho'? And who's the leading consumer for pussy on a tape? Middle-aged white men.

The peanut gallery: "White men, yeah. They buy all of it. They're spending way more."

These white men are buying the pussy from the hos because they aren't being sexually fulfilled by the women they have in their traditional lifestyle at home. And they go outside for the thrills without any attachment, so when they go home, there's no phone number or nobody calling who can ruin their fuckin' lives. So it's understandable why pornography is the way it is. But after all that, why is somebody worried about me saying 'ho'? I make up different terminology all the time. I made an effort to make a reference to a male organ without being disrespectful in a woman's presence on "Candy Shop." If you say "penis, cock, dick," whatever way you want to say it, that's going to be disrespectful in the presence of some women, so I said, "the magic stick" and "the candy shop" is the bedroom and the "amusement park" is the bedroom, trying to come up with a way to do it where you're not being disrespectful. But those efforts apparently don't mean very much.

So what do you really think about those guys who say they're not going to curse anymore?

They're just saying it. They're not going to really do it.

Yeah, it's hard to imagine Ghostface is going to stop cursing, especially considering his last couple of records.

The peanut gallery: "Nobody even cares what he does." "Who's listening to him, anyway?" "That was the '90s, B. Kids don't even know Ghostface anymore." "The streets are different now," says Yayo. "Guys like Ghostface don't matter. They don't. They had a run, but it's over."

But can't he just make a great record, even if it doesn't sell, and we can appreciate it as listeners, as hip-hop fans?

No, because a great record is embraced and enjoyed by the public. And it's played in cars and clubs.

What if it sells a couple hundred thousand copies, isn't that valid? Or does it have to sell millions for you to take it seriously?

In my camp, a couple hundred thousand records is a failure. From my perspective, if I sell 200,000 copies, after selling 12 million records, it's considered terrible.

But maybe he's trying to make a different kind of record?

What, the kind people don't buy?

No, one with incredible, detailed storytelling that's moving and powerful, and isn't dependent on some obvious hook.

Look, I understand all that. But if you're on a major record label, and he [Ghostface] is, and you sell a couple hundred thousand records, that was a failure. Your fuckin' photos and videos aren't recouped with 200,000 copies sold.

OK, but can you at least acknowledge that a commercial flop, like, say, [Ghostface's] Supreme Clientele, can still be an artistic achievement?

"He didn't even write that album, man," says Yayo, his eyes narrowing.

What?

Yayo: "He didn't write it. That kid from Far Rockaway -- Superb -- he wrote that record. You know Superb from Far Rock?"

No, and that's a pretty serious charge.

[50 quickly jumps back in] I don't know nothing about any of that. He's the writer. I'm not gonna say he ain't write it. But it still didn't work!

Who the fuck is Tony Yayo to talk? He doesn't even count as a real rapper. Ghostface AKA the Wally Champ AKA Tony Starks is one of the best out there. Even with Fish Scale, which I didn't like that much, he still destroys anything Yayo has ever even thought about putting out. The guy makes himself sound stupid.

Superb once said in an interview that HE wrote supreme clientele too.

All I know is, if I find out ghostface didn't really write it, I'm never listening to him again. I'm trying to not believe yayo and superb though.

Discuss please.

I'm pretty sure Tony Yayo has a ghostwriter so he shouldn't even be talking shit on Ghostface. I'm not sure who but the way the industry works they usually get people who try to become major artists to submit demos and write lyrics for established artists at a chance to become a major artist themselves..

From wikipedia

Ghostface

On July 6, 2007, Yayo alleged that Ghostface had a ghostwriter for his Supreme Clientèle album. In an interview with spin.com, Yayo claimed that Far Rocaway native rapper Supurb, who guest appeared on the album, wrote a majority if not all of the lyrics.[1] This allegation proves unlikely due to the fact that Yayo himself has a ghostwriter.

G-unit doesn't have shit on

Diplomats/Camron, and it isn't even a contest with Ghostface. Everyone hops on ghostface because it's the cool thing to like now, but he is really a great mc and deserves respect. These guys need to respect their fucking elders.

I wish he died when he got shot. Then, there wouldn't be his shitty hoodwear clothing line, his annoying voice, his big ass teeth in his mouth that never opens, g unit, Millions of kids that try to act like they're living in a bad area, and worst of all, these shit tank tops

man g-unit is a fucking joke.

since when did ghostface stop cursing? thats new to me. has any one of those rappers realesed one song without any cursing on it AFTER they claimed that they would? if so what song. i can say there will never be a full album released by any 3 of those rappers that has no cursing in it. Although i would cop it if they ever did cuz that would be pretty dope and different of them to do it. but come on really, this is just like every other rapper who claims to have retiered but keeps putting out albums & songs. Jay-Z, too short, scarface, eminem ect.

Nah he didn't stop, he's been saying he would for a while now. Who cares though, that wasn't really the main focus of the interview. Just the fact that yayo could even THINK about disrespecting ghostface is sickening. Who does he think he is?

speakin of ghostwriters, cormega use to ghostwrite for nas. if you go to cormega's message board and ask questions about him and nas it gets erased. if you say or ask anything about cormega's ghostwritting days for nas the post gets erased and you get banned. & cormega writes you some nasty message.

The main sentiment of this thread will be people dissing Yayo, discussing how great Ghostface/The Wu Collective is, etc.

I'm not too sure about the Nas ghostwriting thing. It's Nas lol

This post is a bit of an overstatement.

Didn't know you were on megasite.com though. Shit's been closed for time.

The way I've heard it and what I've ascertained as a listener of both is that many of Nasir's most popular quotables were either directly influeneced by Mega, or "shared" between the two of them back when all was cool. "Life's a bitch but..." "street dreams" etc...were phrases that A young angry Mega was quick to claim he coined, and he very well may have, but I think now that both are older, and personal beefs have ben put to the side, you would not find Cormega claiming that he ghostwrote for Nas, Hence the topics getting deleted.

As for Tony and Ghostface....Shit, I'm gonna go against the grain and say that Yayo (with fift's quick witted help) does make a few good points about Tony Stark's lack of relevance in todays mainstream hip-hop climate. Wu-tang shows are 90% white, and have been since the mid to late 90's, his sales point to a decline in the overall popularity of the "kind" of music that wu-tang created. That said, it is clear that regardless of wether his fan base is chocolate or chalk, he's one of the best and most innovative artists doing it today, and there is No way that fuckboy Superb wrote any of that album...plain and simple.

I was slightly dissapointed that this was not a post about Tony yayo actually physically attacking Ghostface. On that one....Ironman holds the belt no contest.

I'm glad I don't watch TV or read magazines, who'se tony yayo?

I'm not really into rap, aside from a few notable exceptions (just looking at american acts) like Jedi Mind tricks and Cannibal Ox. So which Ghostface album should I give a listen to?

On a side note, I am listening to nutmeg for the millionth time, I love rza's part hahaha. It's so funny, every time he makes the "buh" or "puh" sound it sounds like he's spitting all over the studio. Still a very good song though.

Pass me a honey-dipped spliff, black mental cause continental drift

One whiff of Pow U gets my Divine stiff

Brick rock, late night, hear the tick tock of my clock

I used to run up and pick, a crab lock

Hit his stash, dip back, to the Lab, make him flip

Uptown, BOO-DOOP, now we back on your ass

Incognito, fatal aikido blow, pop a needle

Dick a knock-knee hoe, bust out her fetal

Nine inch long strong, Bobby pop the bitch thongs

Spit on her, then I banged on my chest like Kong King

Merciless Meng, point the killa bee sting

ring DINGS, right through your head BING

Snap the wing off of bats, my battleaxe tongue hacks tracks

Once the ball drop, I'ma snatch ten jacks

Pass the crack to a niggarette, puff a looseleaf cigarette

while your man search the internet for +Bob Digitech in Stereo+

Crazy as Shapiro

Multiply myself ten times standin next to zero

And snap my fingers like the Fonz

and bag me a golden bronze skinned girl with the honey blonde

dip hair, make a nigga flip in his chair

Had the armpit shaved off perfect with the Nair

Stomach fat as a pancake for her man's sake

Used to fuck her when she menestraute

but it made her hyperventilate

.

Who?..........
