I don't think anyone here, aside from cheep, can speak for what warehouse wants to get out of this. I don't think you can infer much from the price of the jeans though, these are 15800 yen jeans in japan, roughly $130. Its not like they are giving us some sort of price break to stimulate interest here.

Anyway, I'm done. It's not really worth talking about.

I've been browsing this website for a while now, but only recently joined as you can see. I'm considering buying these jeans and doing the contest, but my friend and I are going to have our own little contest at the same time. If I do buy these jeans I will probably enter the contest and only wear them to bed haha. It would be kind of like doing a contest and experiment at the same time. I just have to figure out if I want to buy these jeans or not. I still have a few days...

thanks for letting us know...

don't mean to burst your bubbles, but this has been done before. at least two different examples have been posted on this forum with denim pants and one with a denim jacket. in the case of the denim jacket, it was actually a combination of daily wear plus sleeping in them like a pajama, and the result was amazing. in the case of a pair of jeans just worn purely as a pajama, the result was expectedly underwhelming.

so if you're thinking of doing it purely for a novelty purpose, you might want to think of something else. especially since these are really nice denim we're talking about.

but welcome to the future.

Technically you'll be sizing up.

Depends on how you look at it. As already stated many times before, these jeans are meant to wear low on your hips. Hence, the 'real' sizes are larger.

Oh well, like someone said before, best thing you can do is just measure your waist at the point where you want to wear the jeans and look at the sizing chart.

Only in the waist, not in the thigh.

Just waiting for Gordon to get back to me about that shipping enquiry. Going for the W34. I'll live with a bigger waist, no point in having jeans if I can't even get my legs in. And I'm going to be hot soaking the frig out of them when they get here. (what was it, overnight soak to get all the starch out?). So I can't have them shrink too small on me. I'm planning on giving these a gentle all over fade.

The 103s that nightdeposit mentioned sit lower on the waist, so in his case this argument doesn't fly.

he said he's getting the same size as his SD-103s, so that means he'll end up with more room in the waist, knee, hem and in the upper thighs. The rise will also be higher. So compared to his 103s, technically, he will be sizing up in all areas. At least according to my measurements.

I don't have any experiences with the SDA 103, but I guess you're right then. But then again, imo, the best way to determine the size is just measure your waist. Simple, straightforward and effective ;)

I wish it was that simple for me. I buy via thigh size only. And it's a pain because not a lot of online sellers based in the US (cough*denimbar*context*revolve*cough) show the thigh measurments on their online stores. Rakuten stores aren't much better. Most times I just read over posts, look at fit picks, make a guestimate and then jump into the blue.

i know i know, after rereading this thread and looking at the sizing chart i will probaly end up going down one or two. the 103s are a bit tight sometimes in the thigh & waist and i dont wear a belt with them. i thought maybe by going with a tagged 32, theres no chance of them getting uncomfortable. i realized the post wash sizing was 34, but I know its going to come in at least 1/2 inch more. but then proably stretch a bit.. the tape measure is in effect.

I went with my true waste (30) on these because I find jeans stretch more horizontally than they do vertically (as well as shrink more vertically than horiz.) and the last thing I want is raw denim riding deep in my junk just because they were cut to be lower and I'm trying to force them higher. $0.02

I'm wearing 29's in APCs but probably could have worked into 28's.

Thanks for your advice.

Also I read through this thread, but I can't remember if it was stated how much these jeans will stretch. I know how much of a pain it is to answer questions already asked, but would somebody mind informing me? Thanks in advance.

I remember a Warehouse 1000XX (same fabric) owner saying that there's 'little stretch'. I also remember cheep saying that these might shrink an additional 0.5" with consecutive washes. Chicken says he went for the smaller size because he's not planning on washing them very often. That about sums up this thread in terms of stretch (and shrink). Isn't it all just one big sizing adventure?

I read through most of these posts, but I never read that there was a prize for winning. Is there a prize?

First prize will be a special made pair of jeans with the same 660 cut using a Warehouse

original denim hand dyed with natural indigo by one of only 3 people considered by Japan to

be national living treasures in the art of indigo dyeing. These have never been produced and

only one pair will be made and awarded to the winner. Second and third place prizes will be

announced before the start of the contest.

The prize sounds so freaking sick!
