Alexandre Plokhov for Uniqlo

Went down to "the 'Qlo" after work last night, and was kind of underwhelmed.

Here's why:

Everything is 39.99 from what I remember. Shirts, Jeans, Anoraks, etc...

The fit on the Anorak and vest was pretty spot on, but the quality and detailing on the jacket looked a bit sub-par, and kinda "GAPish" now that I thinkabout it. There was one Black Anorak left in M that I contempplated purchasing, but after thinking about it, I decided against it.

The jeans look OK, but the denim is thin, and again, I'm not feeling the detailing. The sizing was a huge problem. It seemed impossible to find a "Medium" (32/w) that had a 34" or longer inseam. They were all 32". I didn't even look for a small with a 34" inseam, but that seems doubtful as well.

The button-up shirts look nice, but I have a black 2 pocket cloak military longsleeve shirt already I got for 40 bones from the sample sale so I passed. The detailing is what you would expect from Cloak, and was far better than the other pieces. The grey stripey one and the all black were the ones to pick-up.

Vests were only white, but they fit well. I don't fuck with white vests, so another pass.

Didn't even need to take Polo's off the rack. I hate them.

I don't wear shorts.

That about covers it.

Seems like the vests and Anoraks are going real fast. They might restock, Plenty of Polos, shorts, and jeans still.

Originally I was deciding whether to cop that Uniqlo jacket in white or a white Hare jacket .. but if the quality of the white Qlo jacket is so shotty .. then fuck that. I'll have to check it in person.

So went to the ginza Uniqlo today, they had a full run of sizes in everything in every color I think..

Here's the breakdown. I'm 6'4 200 lbs.

Jeans- fit way skinnier than tagged size TO ME. I'm a ~33 waist. 34's in pbjs are somewhat saggy on me, need a belt to hold up. I tried on the size L (say they're 35~ waist) they were goddamn tight. Thighs are real small, they're stretch, so i could get in them, they taper quite a lot, i liked the knee down fit, but i'm just too big for such skinny jeans.

3,900 yen (35 dollars ish)

Shorts- fit peeerrrrfeeect. size L waist was pretty much spot on (seemed a bit bigger than the "denim" jeans, length is nice, a tad on the longer side but they're still very slim without being uh oh slim, so it works.

1,900 yen (17$ ish)

Shirts- Fuck, these dissapointed the hell out of me. I really wanted to pick up at least one of the long sleeved ones, but, the sizing is again really slim, and while I could questionably do fine with the body size, the sleeves were 'arm capris'. Quality seemed ok, pretty average, price was good though. They only go up to an L in japan, which is more or less the US medium with shorter sleeves.

Vests- Fuck that shit.

Jackets- hey, great idea, its humid, lets get a non breathable jacket!

Polo- very very stretchy. not a huge fan of them, cause the biggest size was again a bit small, and i didn't like it enough to just deal with it.

dropped by a store today, and picked up three shirts(b/w stripe, Black, and White)

I usually wear size S shirts from Uniqlo, but these shirts are quite hugging around the shoulder. So I went with M.

Besides there isn't anything of size S left in the store.

I'd have loved to try on those pants, but again they're completely gone.

So I changed my mind and went back last night.

Got the Black Anorak. Shit's kinda gully with the hood up and some black raybans, and though the material (100% Nylon) is not my favorite, the stitching looked pretty decent, Some of the offfending toggley things on the bottom can be taken off to, and I really liked all the different ways you could flip the hood.

Evidently they had re-stocked, but only L's were left in black. They fit nice and slim though, so L was the perfect length.

Still white ones left, wish they were waxed cotton like the vests, cause the white Nylon is just a lil too bright/tacky.

Nah Don't despair

...They had restocked the white and black Anoraks from the first day I went there. And the other thing is, I'm a medium to large and the Large fits perfect, cause it's well slim enough, but the tad bit of extra length makes it. It's still fairly short which was exactly what I was looking for.

I tried on the medium and it basically fit fine too. Just wanted a lil extra hoodie room for fall...

My friend is an assistant designer at Uniqlo NYC so she was able to hook my girl and Iupwith a 30% discount. I copped the anorak in black since I needed a new windbreaker. It's a nice slim fit jacket and can't beat the price, especially after a discount.

no idea when you went or where you looked, but as of about an hour ago,

in the little alcove right in front there were:

tons of white anoraks

shorts in S

button-downs in S and XS

no polos

no vests

I don;t like the collection for some reason... nothing special really.. It's just the fact that when you get one, you know it was designed by plockhov.. but it really doesn't look anything wow. It's just like any other garment out there

almost every piece had the detailings of a plokhov piece, but the quality on a lot of the items were ATROCIOUS. yea, downright horrible, even for the price. only big sizes left for a bunch of the items. i hope they restock some stuff in xs or at least s.

the good:

1.the vest seemed to be made nicely with nice details and my favorite part was that it wasnt flimsy and it was actually quite thick. another vest from the designer collection was there and that piece felt like paper with no details to be found on it.

2.the polo was cut nicely and was my second favorite item of the collection.

the bad:

1. the shirts...wow...no lie i've felt better material on old navy shirts. fit was also off. ugh.

worth what you're paying for:

jeans...i especially liked the white jeans.
