There's no reason you shouldn't try to get in contact with him. I know a few guys and girls who are still most attracted to the type of girl/guy they first fell for. I know I have a very specific type of girl I'll always go after for the same reason. Plus there's no reason, even if he's waaaaaay past his original feelings, that he wouldn't be interested now. I'm not trying to S your D here, but you're attractive enough to cold call someone.
