Bicyclettes

It's a single speed WITH brakes, not a fixed. I don't see what the fuss is about. Walmart sells cruisers without brakes without incident. Only people that might care about this are hipsters who are afraid that walmart is going to take their uniqueness away. In a week people will forget about this, I doubt you'll see a flood of mongooses (mongeese?) on the street.

You have to maintain 50mph or else the bike will explode.

If there's a gap in the bridge can they jump it?

i'm selling a pair of open pro sup 36h grey anodized rims (braking surface is grey as well as the rim, silver eyelets). these were laced to DA7600s as a track only wheelset. i planned on building a road set with these, but bought a built set instead. there are two small scratches and one sticker isn't perfect on one, but they're in top shape otherwise.

aside from the ceramic versions, these are some of the sickest heavy business rims from the past years. from what i understand, mavic quit making this version and are only doing a machined sidewall now.

$150 shipped in the US with a free copy of the jitensya-jin NJS builders magazine.

so.... i finally threw fat tires on my mah' and failed to consider the possibility, but now the tires profile is just high enough to rub into my seat tube..

so im thinking a chain with like another link or two should be an easy fix, no? someone lemme know before i go potentially waste anymore money

I have a Cane Creek S2 and it's fine.

Personally, I could never justify spending that kinda loot on a King headset because I've got other parts that could stand to be upgraded. A King headset should be the icing on your build. If you've got nothing else to upgrade, fuck it.

Are you around this weekend, mate?

Headsets - what you guys got?

My Cayne Uno came w/ a standard Cane Creek, but I was thinking about switching to a Chris King. I don't do wild stuff on it (still have front brake).

what do you think?

threaded or thredless? i almost spent the extra money on a hatta swan but now im glad I didnt. the tange is complete sufficient.

Expensive headsets are a complete waste of cash on a road-going bike. I've had the entire gamut, from indexed threaded garbage to 'spensive standard fittings to high and low-end integrated bearings. I still don't care, nothing would make me spend the money, Chris King=vanity.

It doesn't matter if it's not an offroad bike.

On a cross or MTB, the weight on the bars and extensive steering you have to do destroy headsets quickly if they aren't super high quality and it's noticeable.

Soda blasting requires a step before painting where you need to wash the frame to neutralize the baking soda, otherwise your paint will peel quick fayst.

If you wanna get rid of that rust and repaint it - look for someone that will sand/media blast it AND powdercoat it. It should run around $70-$100 for a strip and basic RAL color.

if only it was this cheap in the city. $100 for the bead blast alone if you're lucky.

Venture out of the NYC force field Mike. I don't know any off hand, but I'm sure there's some spots in Jersey.

so it's either $100 in the city or $100 in time and money/shipping before you can get it done elsewhere without a car. tink about it boss.
