This is my ride. It is only 2 days old. Its not near as nice as most you guys bikes but I fucking love it! Soon to come is some flat bars, new stem, new pedals, and most likely a new wheelset.

Have you guys checked out that Pedal ID site?

This is what I came up with. The site is super addicting.

for a first timer do-it-your-self? uh...you may want to practice on a cheaper wheelset. but hey, its your loot/loss.

My second time but my friend he have 10 years experience with repairing bike can help me and supervise me.

here's my fixed gear, unfortunately my track frame is busted by some bike theft i had to transfer all my parts to this road frame i got:

OK advice. I need a new bike for uni and fixed gear loks like alot of fun. Would it be worth trying to convert this old roadbike from times past i found or should i just buy a new budget bike (probably a pista :)). Converting dosn't look to be that much cheaper becasue i would need a full new wheelset.

sycamore, get your girl some cages on her pedals! unless she can telekinetically stop herself without brakes or she can skid/skip without clips. either way she would be one bad ass rider. until proven otherwise, i'll assume she is just a bad ass rider.

all in all, sick bikes though.

oh and what kind of risers are those? i've always meant to ask who makes those white risers whenever i see them.

i got some black riser bars with black oury grips. i'm converted - i love risers. the ride feels so much better. combined with moving from 72 to 68 gear inches = heaven. never thought moving 4 gear inches could feel so different.

My whip.

1985 Skyway Streetbeat F/F w/ NOS parts.

I'm really scared about riding my bike in some parts of SF. Just yesterday I almost got hit off my bike and jacked by three black dudes. I was riding on market near the porn shops and liquor stores and as I was coming close to the corner I saw a black dude signal his friends. As soon as his friends got there they were huddling in front of me about 10 feet away. I didn't have much time to react so I quickly turned and wobbled left as I felt a hand knick my backpack. I sped off and was scared shitless.

DAMN i didnt know bikes came with such sick rims!!! hahahaha

by rims i mean....... uhhh spokes?

a toronto fixed gear rider, bikeforums member 'shiznaz' and acquaintence of mine charlie princep was hit and killed by a drunk driver in manitoba. he was a few weeks shy of his return to toronto from a west coast american, cross-canada solo tour by bicycle.

nothing yet on the details, but man this has been a shitty summer. a bunch of my friends have been hit in toronto, one so seriously he required shoulder surgery, and now this. didn't know him too well, but enough to know i'll miss seeing him around the city on his armada of bikes (pursuit bikes, funny bikes of all stripes, a fixed haro, and a beat up commuter).

^ That's terrible :( . RIP.

Got hit 2 weeks ago, dude ran the stop sign and clipped me. Threw me off my bike and landed on my hip. Been a little nervous riding around and even more cautious now. Picked up a trainer as a substitute for riding on the street. Shit sux.

BMX is the new fixed gear. It never ends! No but seriously. Alot of kids here are selling their fixed gear and putting together old school BMX bikes because FG is so fucking trendy. One thing after the other.

Whatever.

I'm very much into vintage and modern BMX bikes, but it'll never really catch on in a big way because it's not really a viable mode of transportation, and most people i know with fixies actually use them to commute..
