What with all of the threads discussing particular items, I thought that it was about time we had one for button up shirts. Post your favorite short-sleeved, long-sleeved and no-sleeved button up shirts, be they linen, cotton, or some sort of space-age polymer.

Somewhere I read that button down refers to shirts with collars that you button down, but I use them both interchangeably. I may have just pulled that out of my ass though.

that's true. Button up is the right term if the collars dont have buttons.

Here are my 4 "favourites"

1.Gap Suede shirt (very difficult to wear, but I like none the less)

2.Sixty Brand French Cuffs (got for very cheap, like $30, and the quality sucks with threads coming apart all over)

3.Boss short sleave that I enjoy

4.Rare western shirt that I love

I don't wanna hate or anything, but can you post up some outfits with those shirts? I don't see how anyone could possibly pull those off they look awful at first glance..

The suede one, as I said, is almost impossible to wear, and I do not think I have come close to pulling it off yet. The French cuff one, is simple to wear with a pair of jeans, tucked in, with a flat shoe, like a chuck or something, or a pair of boots. But with boots, I think it looks a bit too contrived.

The Boss, is worn, again, with jeans and a pair of black shoes. This one is easier to wear when the outing warrants black leather shoes, but, checkerboard vans are alright if you want to look like and optical illusion.

The last, the Rare one, I wear with, you guessed it, jeans,and boots or chucks.

I tuck all but the Boss and Suede in simply as they are too long.
