i kept going back and forth on the solar atomic but decided to hold off on it for now.

i plan on using it when i go to the beach etc. just much rather have a nato than the regular strap when im there..also heading to hawaii later this year to finally try scuba diving and the shock would be the one i would want on me..unless i get another seiko or that alpha milsub. hehe..:o

thats the perfect reason to get a Frogman or Gulfman lol! :D

i'd say yeah those 3 are great choices and you can spend the leftover money on other stuff

its a seiko you've never heard of seiko? and yes its a quality investment for what you pay

First, don't do that. I understand you know your shit about watches but there's no need to pop off on this kid.

Second, I'm pretty sure he was looking for more information on Andrew's blog post about the Stowa rather than the Seiko he posted here.

In that regard, much more information can be found about Stowa via Andrew's link to the Stowa website. Like he said, Stowa makes a great timepiece and that sapphire crystal case back really puts that watch over the top.

same here don't know why but I think G's with natos don;t look right.

I'm not a fan of square G's but the GW-5000B is mighty tempting

yea, nato+gshock doesn't work. they make nato converters for gshocks. little rubber things that you screw into the lugs and thread the strap through. never tried, but they look ugly as hell.

anyone selling or know where i can get a seiko snx425 or 427? seem to have missed the boat on those.

http://cgi.ebay.com/SEIKO-MILITARY-AUTOMATIC-STAINLESS-MEN-SNX425-WR30m-/250569779314?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Wristwatches&hash=item3a571f6872#ht_3873wt_941

You can usually find a few floating around ebay. Sometimes you'll pay a shipping premium as many come straight from Japan. Have yet to run into any authenticity problems but you will forfeit the ability to take it to a Seiko dealer and have it worked on under any kind of warranty. Then again...I've also never heard of anybody having real problems with their Seiko...

cyberpunk, how's that bubble glass on the marathon. i really like that watch but it sort of turns me off. if you ever have more pictures of it that'd be awesome.

What are peoples experiences/impressions of Tsovet watches. I love the Bell and Ross watches but they are way out of my budget where the Tsovet have a similar aesthetic and are much more reachable.

if you only care about the aesthetic then I guess its alright they are not bad looking watches but for the price point you can find better deals. Which model in particular were you interested in?

I am thinking this one. Any suggestions for alternatives for around the same amount would be welcomed... perhaps something a little smaller.

I love Tsovet's aesthetics. But the more I've gotten into watches, the less excited I've gotten about paying $500+ for a watch with a quartz movement. While theres nothing wrong with quartz, the movements are generally very cheap and therefor shouldn't drive the cost of a watch to that price point.

On that note, Lum Tec makes some really nice automatic watches that are VERY similar to what Tsovet is doing and at almost the exact same price points.

yeah I agree with whogotmeintothis lum tec makes a simlar looking model that you like from tsovet

you can check out the bull45 model which has a square case it uses a quartz movement too but it has a sapphire crystal thats coated with AR on both sides and obviously the lume on the lum tec will blow the tsovet out

of the water. Not to mention its a chronograph and its about the same price as a tsovet your getting alot of watch for the money

also they have a 2010 version of it coming out soon I like the dial on this version better

The above two are both quartz watches and if thats fine with you then its all good but if you are looking for a automatic you can try checking out the Steinhart Aviation watch theres a GMT version too. Its alot of watch for not alot of money. It uses a ETA-2824-2 movement, has a domed sapphire crystal thats coated with AR on the inside and uses superluminova on the hands/indexes.

eta2824-2 movement

sapphire crystal with AR coating underneath

C3 lume

water resistance of 1000ft/300m

42mm diameter, 22mm bracelet, weighs 190g... very solid and hefty watch. bracelet is comfortable and great wrist presence on my 6.7in wrist. it dwarfs my DJ when its side by side.

ordered an olive nato and a Bond nato with PVD finished buckles..can't wait.
