I've never understood this attitude. My parents do quite well. They live an extraordinarily comfortable life. They have two kids. They work jobs that they enjoy. They recently got back from a two week mediterranean cruise... just cause they wanted a vacation. They're normal happy people. Neither their meaning nor my meaning in life has ever been derived by occupation or the amount of money I/they make. To be honest if the only reason you live is to do "better" than your parents... and the only reason you have kids is to hope they do "better" than you... you have really missed the whole point of why we're here.

There are things in this life more valuable than money.
