Red Cloud & Co. jeans

DhaDha is right. Both are exactly the same, just different names.

The reason for this is because Red Cloud is planning for a distinct change for China models and international models.

Starting from this 25oz model, in Chinese community (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong) they are R424SP (due the the wukong arc). Internationally (rest of the world), they are R400SP due to its cut similar to R400.

Raymon will be able to collect data of regional preference in order to plan for his next cut.

Thanks for the responses regarding the rise. I was interested in the 423 (not tapered)  I need a rise greater then 11 in the front and larger then that in the back at a 35" waist.   The only chart I see is from ab fits which seems to top out out 34 : which at 34 gives a 10.5 front and 13 rear. Anyone know  approximate post soak rise measurements for a 36" waist or larger?

I would like to get the waist to a 35.. thanks

My sz 36 R423's have a front rise of 11.5", and a rear rise of 15", and a waist around 37ish. I found an old size chart of the R423 (on the third page) and a size 34 (which should stretch to 35 waist) has a front rise of 30cm (~11.8") so with the amount of shrinkage I got, the front rise should end up just about 11" (with a couple hot soak/washes), so less if you cold soak. The rear rise should be between 14-15 I'd imagine as well.

R425H worn for about 4 to 5 months, 2 machine washes.

pretty easy faders I'd say. I've always worn this as a "day off" pair to whatever project I've been working on.

my first pair of red clouds, for sure not the last (next pair will definitely be a looser cut such as the R423),

I wish Red Cloud had longer inseams. Everything looks terrific!

Sorry, if you are following our measurement chart on our website, forgive me, we made a typo error there.

The Red Cloud Jeans inseam is generally 37" and we have corrected the measurement charts.

'Wukong' is the name of Monkey God in popular Chinese folklore, written in 16th century, MING Dynasty.

Before Wukong started a journey with his teacher, he was an undisciplined and evil demon with vast magical power. Through Buddhism teachings, Wukong changed and fulfilled his mission escorting his teacher to attain higher scriptures.

A classic example of bad guys turned good.

This story is categorize as one of the top four novel in Chinese history, ever until now.

quoting from the Reddit brand spotlight

Wukong “Monkey King†comes from the Chinese novel, Journey to the West. In this novel, the monkey king(Sun wukong) is quite naughty, so his mentor borrow a headband from Jade Emperor( from Buddism) and in order to control him.The logo originates from the shape of this headband.

Not to sound rude but whats the relation with the story and jeans?

Oh... I am sorry as I miss out the symbol :)

Just like goodrain mentioned, 'Wukong' was undisciplined and untamed but a perfect bodyguard to escort his mentor on his journey to India.

In order to tame Wukong, his mentor placed a symbolic crown on Wukong's head. Whenever Wukong thinks about doing evil or fail to his the crown will tighten causing pain to Wukong's head.

So, in Chinese belief, this crown symbolized Wukong, the Monkey God, who change from bad to good.

And the design of Red Cloud 'Wukong' arcuate is inspired by the crown of Wukong.
