Enjoy the infamous 54 LVC!

Also, I ordered the LEVI x Billy Reid Trucker Jacket... They'll soon arrive (next week, probably). Let me know if you'd want pictures of that jacket.

Saw all of the new Filson x Levi's today- all of the pieces are excellent. The tin/shelter cloth western shirt is particularly nice, but the Upland Hunting Vest is a wet dream:

Funny, the care tag says "Dry Clean Only". Workwear that needs to be dry-cleaned? Not going to happen.

That looks absolutely fantastic. What's the retail?

I would bet the Dry Clean warning is due to the shrinkage differential between the two main fabrics.

If there is a red tab that says Levi's, the argument could be that the whole package is trademarked. I could argue that a red tab that says paul t is different, and I can put it on my competing range of jeans (with chainstitched hems).

If they can trademark the red tab itself, regardless of the writing on it, that stops anyone else using the red tab at all. That's what they've done, and the use of the red tab by itelf, with no writing, helps perpetuate this.

(IN fact, Levi's has even trademarked the idea of a tab sewn between two piece of cloth in some territtories - but in Japan, I presume it didn't act in time or else trademark law is different, which si why Japanese companies can use the red tab in Japan - but not the US or EUrope).

so this is also the reason why Japanese companies can't use green, blue or other tabs in the US or Europe, very interesting post, I always wondered bout that.

$230 (£140).

I am guessing that is the reason for no dry cleaning, but I'll have to hope a gentle hand wash gets it. Must be sanforized, no? Can't see them releasing it with raw denim/canvas without the tags mentioning it...

A nice slim fitting chore coat made out of some leftover Cone duck, same one used for the LVC 1873-1900 duck trousers &hunting coat/vest. Thick wool lining. Apparently made in very limited numbers, and made in the USA.

Handmade horsehide boots from Al's Attire in San Francisco.
