Did something a little different today. Took the same fit pic with two different size 501s for a direct comparison. Size 32x30 on left Size 34 x 30 on right More pics in the denim thread Levis 501 STF Indigo x Pink Vtg denim engineer cap Orphaned vest Lichtenstein reprint tee ( og is THRASHED) Antique Cowboy Boots I love them both but for the record I prefer the looser pair these days. Makes for more balanced proportions as seen below.9 points

I got my 220a hemmed by Son of a Stag here in the UK and feel like they did a great job. I'm liking the fit more now as found cuffing them twice or japanese turn up too much especially with boots and didn't wear them as much. Maybe that's just me though. Would have been nice if they had used a lemon coloured thread but not too fussed for £20. Lost some nice roping but imagine after a few washes that will be back.8 points

Mine arrived yesterday. Got to check them out today. Delightfully sloppy. Sufficiently oversized. Sam at S&S pinching the waist and seat after wash? TBD.8 points

A Tale of Two Sizes Levis 501 Shrink to fit with Indigo X pink denim. Size 32 x 30 on left Size 34 x 30 on right The differences look pretty subtle at first but they are pretty drastic on closer inspection. The smaller pair is closer to my true size and shrank to a pretty snug nearly perfect slimmer straight leg. A pretty noticeable difference in the rise, hips, thighs and leg shape. The hem is still fairly roomy allowing all my boots plenty of space. Oddly enough the two pairs are nearly identical below the knees. In contrast the bigger pair is still fairly fitted in the top block due to the higher rise but is much looser in the thigh and all the way down with a slightly roomier leg opening. The knees bags are pretty stretched out too. Closer to a classic mid century fit. Relaxed and straight but not baggy. Both pairs have been worn pretty regularly in my rotation for about a year but neither have accumulated the six months of use to qualify for a full wash yet. The slimmer pair has been worn about 25% less often but were started a few months earlier. I'm preferring the wear pattern and developing fade on the looser pair and that seems to be a result of the fabric having more room to move and fold while worn. It's also because I prefer the looser fit these days, and therfore they are just getting more wear. I took these shots to compare the silhouettes more closely and also to compare the way the denim is fading.5 points

We could make the other thread a picture only thread. Like everybody posts their start picture there and their final pictures as well. Everything else will be deleted by the mods (Maynard, Broark or me). Good idea?!4 points

First post! I’ve heard of SuperFuture for a long time and finally bit the bullet on getting an account. Love denim, workwear, fashion, etc. Took a 3.5 week trip to Japan this fall and came back with a few duffle bags worth of clothing. My tracking status sadly still has not updated, which rules me out of a Friday start now, but as ATWM said, what's a few days out of 18 months!?3 points

Mine arrived in NYC on the 12th and I didn’t get an update until today that it was in Houston and then it delivered. Hopefully yours isn’t too far behind3 points

Also not sure this all will count as "iconic", but my mom got a film scanner for Christmas last year and scanned a ton of my grandpas old family photos. A few stood out to me where they were wearing some beautiful blue jeans. This was Wyoming in the early 50s. I mentioned to my grandpa how much those old jeans were worth and he laughed, mentioned how much he hated wearing shrink to fits because his mom would always get him and his brother the same size no matter what size they needed. See: picture two, top buttons looking a little tight...3 points

I ordered this Celluloid/Warehouse anniversary jacket - the WW2 Tailor jacket - in early 2024 and it finally came. It’s a coarse/rough/chunky feeling denim, quite dark, unwashed. AFAIK They call it their WW2 denim. When I ordered I somehow missed the bit about the delivery date and thought it was in stock, only to find out it was going to be the better part of a year. Color is most accurate in the close up picture of the placket and the sleeve. https://www.celluloid1984.com/?pid=180239828 It’s sort of combination of Duck Digger and Dead Stock Blue. Apparently they only made 60 of them. I’m a little nervous about the shrunk fit in the shoulders, but everywhere else definitely needs the shrink. This one really was sort of a shot in the dark but it was too unique a piece for me to pass up when it came out. It’s funny how tastes slowly change - I’m not sure I would order it now if it popped up, but I’m not mad that it’s finally here. This doesn’t count as a 2025 buy! If it doesn’t shrink up to a good fit throughout I will probably let it go, but I’m hoping it does!3 points

Holy! It has been stuck in NYC for a few days but suddenly I'm getting delivery today! In LA too for all those here... Question, when can we soak? Thursday, so we can officially start wearing on Friday? Or no touch until Friday?2 points

My pair has made it into the US, but it's been sitting at the international distribution center in NYC for a couple of days. Sometimes USPS tracking skips a few steps and they just show up the next day, hard telling. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯2 points
