  4. Unpopular opinion - I don't like most WWII details. Pockets bags are usually too heavy. Rear pockets are often too small. Wonky stitching doesn't matter to me. Unfinished fly is unappealing. I prefer coin pocket rivets. I do love the laurel wreath buttons though!

  8. This is understandable. I’m looking at the s411 as I don’t have any jeans with a reversed yoke and cinch etc, so hopefully I’ll get the ww2/40s fit (kind of), but with some interesting and different details to my other jeans. Win win for me. edit: someone buy my Freewheelers 47s so I can justify buying more 40s jeans (typed whilst wearing other Freewheelers 47s )

  9. 11 month old DD-1004XX (1922) fresh out of a wash and dry. These were a bit hard to get into, but after their 5th wash and dry, they finally fit perfectly. Gotta love the “dad knee” where my left knee is more faded, and if you look closely, my right thigh is a bit more faded above the knee from kneeling to talk with my son.

  10. Laurel wreath donut buttons and painted arcs are my favourite features of WW2 jeans but sadly, unless it’s LVC, the latter are increasingly difficult to come by.

  16. This was also a consideration for me, hence me also considering a "42ish" cut that was mentioned as an adhoc version for the contest.

  17. I would understand wanting to get a cut you already gravitate towards. I'm going to go with a cut I don't already have and will consider it a bonus to participating.

  18. My deposit is on its way this week. I'm still undecided between the 5150 and the S411! I have a number of 50's cuts and only 1 WW2 model (and 1 46 cut too), but maybe the 50's cut is just more my thing?! Probably getting a bit too hung up on it 🙃

  19. And for transparency reasons in case you wondered if I would pay for the jeans as well So let's get it on!

  20. Interesting question @bartlebyyphonics - thanks for this... Ooe x Bandanna Almanac v FW 'double' leg Both 10oz, both dungaree denim though sure they will age differently Fit-wise... FW is more voluminous and is heavier simply by virtue of more fabric (750g Ooe v 900g FW, weighed them!) Ooe more fitted in the hip / top block and straight leg, akin to stovepipe. But still plenty of space. FW are wider in hip by c5cm Both have same FR (35cm) but FW have much bigger BR by c7cm (a whopping 52cm for FW v a sizeable 45cm Ooe) In terms of the legs... Ooe 'double' leg starts at the pocket. In fact, at the large 'coin' pocket there are 3 layers of denim (see pic). Notably though, they don't feel 3 layers worth of heaviness. Ooe 'double' leg ends at the row of stitching above the hem and, interestingly, at that row of stitching only part of it is stitched to the denim underneath (see pic) FW 'double' leg starts at the thigh but runs all the way down to, and including, the hem The back of the jeans both have a cinch but have differences e.g. Ooe single pocket, FW double plus. Let me know if anyone wants more info and photos and I can post that in an appropriate thread.

  25. I am mainly looking for white t shirts, but now that I am taking a closer look at Tezomeya I am probably going to grab at least one of them, those colors and texture are terrific. Any recommendations for traditional white tees?

  27. @Alec LeamasI have 2 regular sleeve Cushman sweats and one freedom sleeve model and l can say that they are definitely worth their weight in gold quality wise. Apart from the neck being slightly too tight they are perfect IMHO. The freedom sleeve is 16 years old and the other two turn 10 this year! Well worth the 100 quid each l paid for them (speedway shop online). I still have 2 og buzz sweats which now reside at the GF's house in London but they are like made out of kitchen towel compared to the Cushmans!

  29. !!!UPDATE!!! We (or rather Simone) got an aswer from Collect about denim availability. There are 2 rolls available right now of the RS1950-ROW of which Simone needs at least one for us. The R501-UF is not available and the production schedule has been postponed until March '25. So we are glad the majority of people voted for the RS1950 (and honestly, we are happy that there is still stock...). This brings us to the following situation: We can most likely start this whole thing earlier than "planned" (meaning before Christmas) We would need the deposits earlier as well and I talked with Simone and we agreed on September 13th (the deposit would be 140 € payed either via PayPal [F&F preferred but not mandatory of course] or bank transfer) This is necessary so Simone can order the denim and is not left with fabric that he doesn't need. More info about how to pay will follow. [email protected] for PayPal As for the 25 spots not taken until September 13th, we agreed that the last spots can also be filled later. As for cut and sizing: this is not yet important for the deposit, this decision can made later (I will clarifiy this with Simone again until he needs a final cut and size decision).

  40. I have 7 jackets from tcb and the measurements on the site are precise. None of my jackets vary from advertised p2p by more than a cm. I don't own a 60s but would expect the same. They do generally run smaller than equivalent tag size from Warehouse.

  44. It was a lost weekend in a hut in Hathersage, luckily not double pneumonia in a single room… A top escape for me and the lad in the Peak district Walking in the great outdoors, staring into meadows while drinking morning coffee, making friends with the sons of stags, listening to streams trickling, swimming in the local lido, sticking to a caveman diet of meat, fruit and veg and chilling away from it all Walked up Stanage Edge and Bamford Edge. At one point, I thought I heard a rumbling down below as if someone was in the drains and then a cool bike flashed past… we were deep in OO Soul country so who knows if it was him or not… Importantly there was denim on the trip… tatsunosuke military trousers and Freewheelers 1930s set-up
