Silverstones. These were a wide cut when they were originally jeans but they draped weird without any cuff length so l chopped them. Not sure if the thread is cotton, poly or a mix of(?) but it looks cool faded. My phone won't do the denim any justice but the detail pics show the true colour more. The red tab just has a woven S on it inside a circle in white, reminiscent of the R only tab that was introduced in the mid 50's. Obviously l've customised the original back pocket design to fit in with my more favoured aesthetic 😉13 points

Interesting question @bartlebyyphonics - thanks for this... Ooe x Bandanna Almanac v FW 'double' leg Both 10oz, both dungaree denim though sure they will age differently Fit-wise... FW is more voluminous and is heavier simply by virtue of more fabric (750g Ooe v 900g FW, weighed them!) Ooe more fitted in the hip / top block and straight leg, akin to stovepipe. But still plenty of space. FW are wider in hip by c5cm Both have same FR (35cm) but FW have much bigger BR by c7cm (a whopping 52cm for FW v a sizeable 45cm Ooe) In terms of the legs... Ooe 'double' leg starts at the pocket. In fact, at the large 'coin' pocket there are 3 layers of denim (see pic). Notably though, they don't feel 3 layers worth of heaviness. Ooe 'double' leg ends at the row of stitching above the hem and, interestingly, at that row of stitching only part of it is stitched to the denim underneath (see pic) FW 'double' leg starts at the thigh but runs all the way down to, and including, the hem The back of the jeans both have a cinch but have differences e.g. Ooe single pocket, FW double plus. Let me know if anyone wants more info and photos and I can post that in an appropriate thread.13 points

Picked up a pair of 1001XX (1000XX) 1953's off Mercari via FromJapan (sidenote I have only recently dived in there and deary me there's truly a wealth of great stuff there!!!) I had been after these for a while, even pondering getting some for UK retail and they literally sold out as I was in the final stages of deciding / faffing - a blessing in disguise! Bit of an odd one as the hem looked unwashed, yet there is some light wear elsewhere, they're in great condition anyway. Looks as though I might be the 3rd owner and the 2nd owner had them hemmed but then changed their mind or something like that. Super pleased with these, typical DSB neppy softness. I also love the details on the 1953 pair - multicoloured stitching throughout and the visible fabric folded over on the pocket corners is a nice little touch I've not seen on any other WH pairs. Don't think I've seen the DSB 1953's shared here so adding a few pictures. Couple outside in the sun shots and some indoor ones - the true colour of the fabric is somewhere between the outside and inside shots, those who have seen new ish DSB fabric will know the type, it's definitely the same version of the fabric as my 1000XX.5 points

I have a wide foot and high instep, and actually went with my normal size for the Yuketen kiltie bluchers. I have them in the Opera flesh out chestnut brown leather and though they were a touch narrow to begin with the leather is very soft and pliable, very very comfy shoes now. I am a U.K. 8-8.5 (US 9-9.5) and took the Yuketens in a 9E. If I could have scored a 9EE I would have done but they are seemingly somewhat rare / perhaps custom order.1 point

Either same size or a half size down from your Russell size in length. Same size in width, probably—but note that Russell’s standard width is D and Yuketen’s is E.1 point

Similar ones are coming back made of a chrome-tanned suede cowhide in both black and indigo, the main difference is the new ones have a 2021 Vibram sole and they removed the instep strap. We're getting them in both black and tan in January.1 point

It seems it will be the RS1950 denim. I will wash my pair in the next days again to show more of it's shrink potential. And, could everyone who is really interested DM me? Then I will start a list. If you are already sure which cut, I can add this as well.1 point

@AlientoyWorkmachine I’m planning on doing some custom pizza stitching on mine, and could happily do for yours as well if that would help sway you…1 point

That’s one of the brands that always seems to be priced very aggressively when old dead stock pairs show up for auction. Would love to find a pair one day for a reasonable price…1 point

@ahoI bought some Silverstones fom double0soul some years back. Some great details, including offset beltloop, Scoville marked rivets and a mix of orange and yellow cotton thread. They were cut off to make shorts - l use them in the garden now.1 point

They are definitely my most comfortable one to wear in the current weather (30 °C). The stretchy-ness and lighter feel is similar to FC's 13.7oz denim and also the denim Ooe uses. The texture of FC is a bit rougher though. The 1950-ROW is smoother. I would need to make a closer comparison to the Ooe denim I have.1 point

A week in Sarajevo… incoming double post… do look away if it’s too many pics! Such a wondeful vibrant place, steeped in good and bad history… sure the multi-religions, multi-ethnicities, multi-cultures would have lived, and live, much more harmoniously if it wasn’t for toxic politics that sadly persists everywhere today Our digs right next to the Latin Bridge Bullet holes on the walls from the 1993-95 war and Seige of Sarajevo, lasting 1,425 days The old town It wasn’t me! It was to prove denim was involved… the site where Gavrilo Princip shot Franz Ferdinand which kicked off WW11 point

I picked up a NW 811 in size 36 from Pants Avenue since I knew Eternal was going to restock at the end of this month. I'm not a huge fan of their new patch so figured I'd get an older pair. Naoki was awesome and super quick with shipping out. I will update the thread when I receive it.1 point
