Cultizm LVC Contest

Alright, after much deliberation, I'm going to go with the 37's over the 33's....Just couldn't justify the suspender buttons or exposed rivets although they are the 33's biggest charm...Anyone with the 37's know if the inseams shrink more than two inches (I read medine's 33's shrunk more than 3....)?

EDIT: nevermind, I bought it anyway...;)

I soaked my '37 32x36's in hot water for an hour, and the inseam now measures 32.5".

On the hidden rivets: with any luck, the rivets will wear through the denim eventually. That will be even cooler than the exposed rivets.

Yeah, they're a little too short to cuff. They might not shrink as much if you pull on the leg after washing. I'm not sure how my brother (Medine) manages such a healthy cuff on his, since we're the same size and our jeans shrank about the same. I think it's because he sags quite a bit more than I do.

^Yup, I'm actually not worried at all...I've been wearing my jeans like that lately. In other news, I'm infuriated that FedEx didn't deliver the jeans today before 10:30AM as was displayed on the arrival date for tracking. Couldn't sleep all night as I was trying to make sure I'd hear the doorbell but checking the tracking now, it says they are still in transit in Europe and doesn't even have an arrival date listed.....errrr....

I had a similar thing happen when a pair I ordered missed their expected 1030am delivery. When I checked the delivery log and using the transit times I know to/from airport distance to where I live - it basically looked like the van picked them up from the airport and drove them straight to me when the plane did arrive. FedEx hauled ass to make up the delivery happen the same day - which I was pretty impressed by. I was the same way the night before my delivery I had trouble sleeping I was so excited for my jeans . Hope your jeans arrive soon - cultizm has faster shipping than many continental ground shippers here, lol

^lol yeah I definitely don't have any beef with Cultizm...I called FedEx and apparently it was just an "internet database error" that said they would arrive today, and was informed that the package would actually arrive tomorrow morning instead. This is still faster than ordering from other places, IME, given that they are coming internationally, and with free shipping to boot. BTW, does anyone happen to know how long the shipping refund takes to actually transfer? I didn't want to say anything before but I'm pretty sure my 1947 order back in September didn't get a refund, and it looks like my new 1937 order isn't getting them either despite getting confirmation that it was sent...I'm not pointing fingers at Cultizm though, it's probably a credit card company problem?

Anyway, I'm just being a bitch, and Cultizm has some of the best customer service around! I'm just too excited to get the jeans already...

They might not be doing the free shipping anymore. You might be in a different situation though since you have been waiting on a re-stock ...

I was in the city this afternoon on Valencia Street and took a photo of the old Levi's plant that has since been turned into a school. My father actually worked at Levi's in San Francisco for 27 years in their offices, not the plant, and this city def needs a store selling the LVC line. Sounds like that is happening which is great news!

Sadly no room of old denim - but he does get a great deal on Levi's still so I am really hoping the LVC becomes available here!!!

For those who aren't familiar with the Valencia St plant, here is a before and after for everyone:

did you check to confirm they were delivered? i had a similar experience a few months back. turned out the jeans i had sent back were sitting around at some post or customs office. i alerted the folks at cultizm and they went over and picked the jeans up.

Contestant #1 checking in...;) LVC 1937 32/32

I woke up to the sound of my doorbell...and inside the glorious package was this (sorry too lazy to rotate pics):

IMG_0173p.jpg

Right away I took down the measurements and snapped pre-soak fits...Almost comedic but I know I'll enjoy the extra breathing room! I wonder how they'll do on my skinny frame...

IMG_0186p.jpg

IMG_0187p.jpg

They look just right when cuffed however!

IMG_0194.jpg

And into the tub they went, with my patented "two 5lb weights in plastic bags" routine..

IMG_0199.jpg

After an hour long hot soak, and 30 minutes after that changing water every ten minutes and dunking the jeans up and down to get the starch out, they were up to dry

IMG_0208.jpg

I tried them on while still damp and found my beer belly has room to grow

IMG_0218.jpg

And now they hang gloriously from the Iron Gym to dry out some more...

They came out pretty much exactly how I was expecting although I easily could've sized one or two...ahhhhh sweet comfort! :D

Cuffed and uncuffed (will cuff but wanted to see the difference)...They seemingly have alot more shrink left to them but I'll save it for another day

Let the games begin! ;)

Same thing happened to me. I emailed Cultizm yesterday and Dejan replied saying it had now been fixed. No worries.

@ aho, i love how you've gone the full vintage package here- nice fit and a solid vintage cut- i'm still seriously considering dropping again for an looser 37 myself. i'm still pretty happy with my 47, but the tightness-factor (it's still a bit of a ballbuster) and the more modern cut kinda makes me hanker for something a little further along the vintage-path- to be honest, my 47 kinda just feels like a new standard with a higher rise :(

anyway, as for my progress, most of you might be aware that it's summer here in australia- it's just been too hot and muggy to really put in too much spadework on these just yet, so progress has been pretty limited, i'd estimate less than a couple full days wear in so far. it's cotton shorts weather, damn it! ;)

will be making some more concerted effort from here on in, and watch out for when autumn rolls around ;)
