Rising Sun uses both USA and Japanese denim and offers both washed and unwashed jeans. It is currently being sold in Japan and Germany with US stores on the way.

Everything I've seen, read and heard so far seems really good, I'm convinced!

This shit is nice. The price point is a bit too much for me to handle. The Yukon is like $500. It does have beautiful detailing and also some great denim. I believe it is a natural indigo from white oak. Don't quote me on that though.

Mike Hodis is a great guy and loves to shoot the shit about denim and vintage clothing.

I did not like that video either. I have been wearing my cotton duck worker pant by rising sun co. Such a nice pant . Fit , fabric , details and quality . Can't beat them. I really want those Blacksmith jeans they did . Hope they don't sell out of my size by the time I get the money for them.

Went here on Saturday to drop off my jeans for chainstitch hem. Great service and it's a very cool store. The workshop was amazing. Jeans were hemmed quickly and shipped back to me. Thanks!

How much do they charge for chainstitch? Do they do alteration as well?

Man, when I went here, I really, really, really wanted their canvas blacksmith pants, but I had to hold myself back. The $300 price tag scared me away a bit. I think if Mike was there I would have picked them up, but instead his nephew was there and, uh, he was lacking in some, uh denimology, if you will. Their manufacturing room is pretty nice though.

They charged me 30 bucks. I dropped it off and it was shipped to me. The shipping quote on my package was 16 so, 14-15 dollars for the hem?

they do chainstitching really well. think it was $15 per hem, which is about normal. time is quicker than denim doctors as well, at least for pick up.
