Damn yo! I may disagree with your statement about Diors, but I'm loving the creasing you've got going on! Looks like a recipe for some high-contrast fading, which we haven't seen a whole lot of in this contest so far.

So how many of you dudes participate in Chinese New Years? I expect to see some delicious foodstuffs and some bomb denim pictures. My jeans really need a wash...look forward to pics next weekend! [For those of you that don't know, that's the Chinese New Year weekend this year.]

Do you know Jeremy's? They have a shop in Berkeley (on College and Ashby) and another (bigger) shop in Soma in SF. One of those higher-end department-store-overstock sorta places (usually lots of J. Crew). At one point they had a massive amount of raw MIJ Dior 21cm's for something like $150.

Just sayin.

just picked up my pair from the dry cleaning store that fixed up the crotch. Lady was telling me about how the denim was so thick where all the pieces meet that it broke the needle on her sewing machine and stuff. thought it was badass in a superdenim kinda way

I am nt in the contest but I picked up a pair of these jeans a two weeks ago, I have worn them everyday and they are already starting to fade along the creases. Loving this denim. I hope they use it again in a different fit.

Anyone else notice that these fade really fast for the two-three weeks after a wash?

most jeans do....the denim is a tad stiffer and more abrasion is going on - stops once the denim has softened ...

Also 18 days left for me (and izayuh too, I believe). Hmmm... that's gonna be the first day of the training I'm leading for our research team who will be conducting a massive survey all around the country. Probably gonna be a total head-case, but will have to try to find time to wash&photograph!

^as far as i can tell, you are the front-runner right now. by looking at yours and vamks' jeans we are able to see the full potential of this denim. thank you.

as far as the fading faster after a wash, it depends on the individual pair. if you hang dry, the denim will be noticeably stiffer, but if you hot machine dry, the denim will be significantly softer. my jeans are in the drier right now. i really prefer to let them hang out in the warm virginia air, but there isn't any warm air here right now. imho i think what you do in the jeans right after a wash is more of a factor. sometimes people might tend to try to keep them clean for as long as possible once they are nice and clean. i've actually heard people who are in contests that say they avoid dirt as much as possible, so to each his own....

Haha, common guys, the point of this contest wasn't to win. It was all in good fun. A cool pair of jeans customized by us, limited edition run, three way collab, shit is bomb man.

Besides, it's up to the judges really, even though dkatz and izayuh have awesome pairs I'm sure some other people are bound to have pretty decent contrast pairs/vintage looking pairs.

Good luck, but if you guys were in this just to win, you might need to step back and reevaluate your life.
