lee 101 cowboy overalls

hi there ya all

i have bought myself a few 101 cowboy overalls.

i have never seen these before,i will give you some details,can't send the photo's,cause i dont know how to do that,sorry,maybe someone can explain that to me.(i've treid it several times but it didn't work,sorry)

it has a leather path on the back (color/leftside)

lee cowboy donutbuttons (also for the suspenders)

selvedge , on one side it has a blue line in it.

inner label says First Cowboy Jean

it has allready have several washings

i hope someone can help me with this one.

those sound like the repros from Lee Japan. Look on the Aero website...they have them. If they are originals...you have a gold mine on your hands.

THey're repros of the 1930 101 Cowboy Pants. Made in Japan by Edwin.

the repro ones of the 30's (Japan) i know have a different leather tag,or am i wrong?

THis is the early HD Mercantile Co label. It later changed to Hair On Hide and was placed on the right -these are the ones you've seen, a repro of a 1939 or 1940 model.

Of course, if there are no Made In Japan tags it's possible that these could be originals! But this is exaclty the same as an Edwin-produced repro (i've seen the original jeans which they were based on, they're pictured in the book 'Denim'), so sadly it's more likely someone took the tags out...

on the inside there is a little white label with Union Made LEE guaranteed shrunk on it.
