sarah palin accomplished only one thing tonight, and it was a pretty easy task: recover from her shitty performance on couric. she managed to come across as a competent human being, but she did not go above and beyond that. weak on the issues, rambling on and repeating the same talking points over and over again, and

generally displaying that her greatest expertise is governing on a level that is not at all comparable to being involved in national and international issues.

biden, on the other hand, basically gave the best debate performance of his life. i dont know how this man managed to rein in his usual long-windedness, or his tendency to shoot from the hip and interrupt people just to correct minor mistakes, but he did it and beyond that, he did not once come across as demeaning to palin. whoever trained him on sensitivity on that was fantastic. he knocked it the fuck out on the economy and the war, and his only major blunder was getting way too into nitty gritty senate process talk.
