My freind wanted me to make him some possum fur pants outta all the possums he shot????

I think he spent to much time alone in the bush..........like two or three months.......he was scared of people for a while when he came back

I have felt possum fur, it is amazingly soft. Would love a lined jacket with possum fur.

How expensive do you think that would be Andewhall

It is really soft, a very good pelt indeed. Alot of designers use it here as possums are an introduced pest that eat the native bush, hence less guilt for using animal fur. I think they are protected in Australia? I have been possum shooting a couple of times, but turns out Im not a crack shot, never really did like guns much anyways. I think the pelts are fairly cheap though? I'll try to find out

My relatives tried to bring me some on their last trip here.

But it got confiscated at customs, very wary about hides etc here. in fact i tried to get a croc skin wallet in from Australia but never got here, a letter from customs told me to never try this again.

i grew up in wellington.

NZ is v.strict on importing stuff as well [must be the island thing].

merino silk very soft, it is 80% nz merino, and 20% possum fur [they shave the pelts]. it has a similar feel to cashmere.

i know scottish knitwear makers lyle and scot made some stuff from it.

Nice Im planning to come visit them soon. Might try and pick up some stuff while im there. Ill have to wear it back into Japan though. Hopefully if it is on my body ill be right.

because it is just a spun wool product, no one would even know what it was unless they read the labels.

i didn't wear it because lyle & scott make ugly golf gear, v.good quality [isn't scottish knitwear the best].

it will be available all over though.

my mother sent me a merino/possum scarf, was awesome until i got pissed and lost it

apparently possum hair is hollow, that's why it retains so much heat
