Jil Sander S/S 09 Milan

The first colorblocked suit was actually pretty okay, but that's because it was pretty neutral tones. It seems a little tired after a certain point. After the really striking prints from last season, I was a little disappointed. The leather jacket looks pretty sweet, though.

I wouldn't wear most of this, but the collection looks pretty good on a whole. I really like the ring-zipper detail against the bold blues, etc.

Oh, I would also like to take this opportunity to once again state that I love Raf's trousers.

Agreed. The zipper pulls look best when they aren't the main focal point of the piece (i.e. blue coat). And fadingblue hit it right on the head. Compared to the two-tone suits (which both had better colors and cuts) from his mainline last fall, these just aren't very interesting outside of the small visual quirks he's given them.

YES with the black backed suits.

Yes with about 1/5th of the colour block suits, I like where he put the lines.

No to everything else.

Pants are always an exception.

Raf cuts pants like a butcher, all the extra stuff only enhances the whole, and the meat is exactly in the right place.

I'd claim worst fashion metaphor ever, but I'm sure someone in the professional press will do me one worse.

ehhhh.. watever...

some things are ok, will only repeat other peoples replys if i wrte what i want to. so yeh i'll just say it is a little boring. Nothing really jumps at me. Don't mind the shoes and one of the dark plain suits.. wouldn't cop though, plenty of other i would cop instead for that price.

boring

recycling ideas between collections is bad enough, but between lines?

shame because current season jil is quite nice.

recycling ideas... if that's what you want to call it, is something that many designers from belgium are known and revered for. build on collections slowly... add and remove and continue until it forms itself into a new idea.

i love the gradual transitions + alterations, additions of new elements, etc...

i don't think thats something that should be criticised.
