I'm a noob in the game...planning on getting some new jeans =)

I like my fit a lil loose/baggy and not too tight. I wear sz 34-36 but usually get sz 36 cuz I'm a fatass.

What brand do you suggest? These are the ones I had in mind from viewing posts/pics:

I'm hearing/reading a lot of great things about SUGARCANES...I'm really liking the jeans pictured on this thread (post #2 by Geowu)

I believe they would be less than $170 including service and shipping from Japan. I would definitely get them over the LVC's. The model is like todays 501s with a slightly higher rise I think.

get some levis. they are classic and good jeans. the levis site now has levis premium on the site. cant go wrong with the 501s. they come in a few washes. I like the earnest sewn hutch aswell (is that even selvage?)

besides, do you want washed/raw, low rise/high, straight/bootcut/slim ect?

i dont know too much about LA, but check out ron herman at fredsegal, they usually have good stuff.

bathe my ape, those Canes that Geowu posted a picture of are not new, that is what they look like after the buyer wore them in for a year. They started off "cardboard-like," as you know it. Most selvage jeans come this way, as most selvage buyers like to wear them in from this state.

As for worn-in Selvage jeans, I can't personally recommend these, but http://tinyurl.com/8pjax are selvage, and are pre-washed/worn.

Also, http://tinyurl.com/a3bkz are selvage and pre-distressed.

Lastly, I believe many Prps jeans are selvage and distressed, although frankly I'm not positive. I should know since I was just trying them on a couple of weeks ago, I just blanked on checking for the selvage seam.

If you're not a denim snob and only buy for the name, then listen to this board.

if you care how you look in your jeans, go to a damn store and try them on. There is no better than the other jean in my opinion, only when it comes to how it looks on your body. I like a low rise, boot cut, loose thigh area and zip fly, and for me nothing gets better than lucky jeans. I like nudie RR's but they aren't cut how I like and make my ankles look stupid, apc is just junk in my opinion, and sugarcanes are lvc ripoffs, so just buy some vintage levis.

honestly, just go to a few stores and try stuff on, you'll be suprised. bring a girl, she's more help than any dude on a forum.

what it boils down to is I want women to notice me, not guys who hang out on superfuture.

what makes APC junk? And I don't think sugarcanes are LVC ripoffs. They are just reproductions of old Levis jeans just like LVC are reproductions of them too.

Sugar Cane Repros the Levi's jsut like LVC does and im begining to get the feeling that sugar cane and other japanense brand might be doing it better than LVC does. I think that many ST'ers buy the stuff that the OG'ers endorse and say is dope thus I can see a mild relationship to the whole Dunk scene with all this selvage brand hyping. Good post but I disagree about the dressing for women thing/ wearing what makes you look good; I'd rather wear shit that I feel comfortable with on a particular day.

armani exchange, dsquared, neighborhood, edwin, lvc (mostly japanese ones), apc has bland ones, diesel denim gallery, bape, 45rpm, i know more but i dont feel liek sitting here and thinkning of them.
