Traveling to Shanghai

Just wondering if anyone has some advice on where to stay in shanghai? if you have specific hotel recommendations that's great, but general areas/districts would be helpful as well. i'm looking to stay fairly central to everything, near metros, lots of clubs, bars, etc. cheers.

waow dude that`s a lot of money. You can stay in a good hotel for around 30-60euros per night which doesn`t exceed 100$ !

dude, there are rooms (single bed, tv, bathroom, shower) in Nanjing Dong Lu for $30 a night. even cheaper if you stay for extended time. that is the best location for sure.

不好意思我对上海的宾馆也不太清楚...dude i really have no idea about the hotels here...How long are you planning to stay ? I know that there is a 268 motel at 静安寺....268rmb/night of course ! very central.

planning on staying for 5 nights. i found some relatively cheap place for less than $40/night that are located right on nanjing and near the bund, etc.

good choice of location, nanjing east road is also where i stayed. tons to do that is walking distance and subway station is right there.

yesp it is ok...not my favourite place in the city, but at least you can enjoy a walk on the bund at night, and you`ll be very near to Bar Rouge and Attica if you like to party !

i stayed in a hotel in najing xi lu for around 250 rmb a night maybe a 3 or 31/2 star hotel but not bad its along the main nanjing shoppping road.. but i transferred to a hotel near the jiao tong univ ( forgot the name ) great hotel internet connection/ computer the works for around 230 rmb a night great room too!

交大宾馆 (jiaoda hotel) this is the hotel nearby Jiaotong Uni on Huashan Lu...great location, I live nearby

there's a YMCA hotel near Ren Min Guang Chang, going towards Huai Hai Lu, I heard price is quite decent.

I miss Shanghai.

Was in Shanghai recently..... There is this chain of motel called the Motel 168.

Prices are very decent. At only 168RMB (25USD) you get clean rooms with free internet access (I think). I didn't check the bill as it was too cheap.
