...that makes sense... thanks!!

pretty sure you can do it a few ways

cost average (various)...so average out the price of what you bought all the stock for..use that price as your cost basis and subtract from your profit or loss...dont forget to include commission you paid.......

this is more for inventory but still can work for stock sales....

FIFO- first in first out...use the price of the earliest stocks u bought and determine profit or loss from that

LIFO- last in first out....same as above except you use latest price of stock you bought.......

IRS is just interested in total you made or lost...not too worried aobut per share prices....

i got in with V at 66 so im sitting tight

lost two opportunities to gain profits at 88 but whatever, who here thinks they will dive a third time?

I think the lowest you will see visa go for a while is around 78-79.It seems when they fall, they go no lower than that.

I have invested in commodities, using spread betting which is tax free in europe.

Do any of you apply moving average filters or other methods for taking a position?

Think crude oil is going to drop significantly very soon which will be good.

The funny part of this thread to me IS. That if you can afford Goyard this and Dior that, you most likely: 1- are already rich (and might be worth listining to assuming you made the cash and not your parents.) 2- Have no idea how to invest your money and are the last person to take any finanical advice from.

Just some thoughts ;)
