Will be staying outside of bangkok. never been before, anyone have recommendations for things to do/places?

if you like to try authentic thai massage, go to Body Tune in Silom Rd. It's the best! If you like to go to flea market type shopping, it's everywhere but MBK mall is quite accessible.

go down to the islands. On the andaman sea side! those are the nicest places i have ever been to ever.

tons of stuff for sale now on ebay: corpus, hollywood ranch, levi's premium, vintage etc.

head to chatuchak in bkk for the flea markets....or hua hin for the beaches (2 hours drive from Bangkok)

Definitely check out the islands in the south. Go to Krabi and take the 1hr boat to Koh Phi Phi. The diving there is amazing. 20m visibility.

In Bangkok there are so many things to do. For shopping go to Siam Square and check out all the little boutiques. This is where a lot of locals shop and socialize. For higher end shopping, check out Gaysorn Plaza and Erawan across the street. Emporium on Ploen Chit BTS stop is also a good place to shop for Prada, Gucci, etc. Be sure to eat at the Grayhound Cafe: great Thai food and Western food too.

If you're looking for clubs there is Q-Bar and Mystique and Bed Supper Club. Narcissus is a big boom boom. I think the Ministry of Sound closed two years ago.

Locals actually hang out more at places like Boose on Thong La Soi 10 or Snob on Ratchada Soi 4.

Definetely check the outdoor day weekend market. It is absolutely huge, you will find the sickest selvage denim ever. You can find beatiful jeans that any denimnerd would kill for, for less than 30 usd.

Also go to the island of Koh Pagnan (spelling) for the full moon party. It is the largest outdoor party in the world. Mad Fun!!!!

Oh ya and watch out for the lady boys..
