2k8 create a player sucked. don't know about 2k9. i might pick it up come winter when the price drops a bit and i have time to play it. i either have a whole team of young unproven players who have potential but will never reach it. Or i just go with a bunch of old vets that used to be good in the 90s like big dog, penny, lattener, googs, mashburn, etc...

happens to me sometimes. ill be so into something when i first see it, but wont be able to afford it, or i cant find it or whatever. but the urge to buy it lives on in my heart. then i find it and buy it to satisfy that urge, only to realize im over it. sucks
