it's ludicrous, people think they have the right to enjoy the same privilege as the stores who obviously have to spend loads to represent ccp, as by sitting in front of the computer chatting about a designer. how impatient.

I want that ph umbrella lol

i like how poell is mind-fucking the fanbase and the haters alike. :D

true to be said, the funniest thing is ppl making assumptions that their discretion comes across as marketing ploy, they absolutely have no idea how their organization is like, they are actually very humble and private ppl (which they can't seem to have??), and very genuine to clients. now they are labeled as snobs because the consumers cant' have what they want.

it's very simple, they do not believe their work can be translated via online, they want ppl to go instore and see the goods, in it's entirety or not. and in many ways, they are very eluded with today's fast-food paced fashion, especially showing something that are not instore yet.

now 2010 is all about consumer's moan and cries. i wanna talk about ccp09 selfsame! both male and fe-male!

I think you have missed several of the very pertinent points in the discussion.

1. If a designer is allowed to ask for discretion, the consumer can in turn ask for openess. They are both entitled to opinions, after all. No point in getting your panties in a twist.

2. The amount of money a store spends on a designer should have no bearing on the designer's views. The fact the LIFT had an open showroom for its customers speaks volumes.

3. People appreciate that the collection should be seen and felt in person. But this is not feasible as has been pointed out numerous times. And using this as an excuse for putitng an embargo on pictures is lame (i'm not sure if this was what Poell said, or what the fanboys use to justify the ploy).The fact that Poell and his humble crew allow pictures to be spread post realese, again, speaks volumes. Pick one side of the fence, don't sit on it.

In the end I don't really care if it's marketing ploy or not, or if Poell is a private man. I didn't get to see the collection in person, and won't for a long time, so want to see pictures. I am sure lots of people are in the same boat.

elena posted this on her blog,

the latex dress..

DSC_0085.jpg

inside the latex dress, there's a description, advised to add the powders (so wont be sticky), so what it seems to appear is that her powder is not just the playfulness or the look or the scents.

what i was told is that, this was from her previous collection, but no other stores ordered it, because it's weird and maybe too fetish, or too advance.

but, lucy@em decided to order it

I saw lucy wearing that dress, and it loked amazing, far better than I think photos would leave you to believe.

it did feel different from other parts of the collections though, hopefully we see more quirky items from Elena in the future.

yeah. lucy rocked that dress. i thought it was a ccp fe-male piece, because it's so unusual.

between her men and women, i find thather women rather more exciting, and kinky.

she seems to have an ideal look to dress her men, like a woman's point of view - modern, gentleman, and not pretentious.

her and ph clothes are so different yet complementary.. imho ( when look at the their racks side by side, the colours, choice of fabrics, different yet sink in together )

also, i was told that dover street market will be stocking her next season.

also melv, if your reading, let us know any development of your label in victoria!

haha i'm always reading rob ;)

we've been fortunate enough to be nominated as one of the finalists for the LMFF Designer Award 2011 - which means that we will be bringing the collection to Melb sometime in Feb/March. Would love to have you guys handle the pieces up close if you're all available.

First preview of our FW11 collection is up on Scoute

@tyro,

you are right, and there goes the same with paul harnden

in his women pieces, also seems to project his idealism of women - very matured, very toughed up but motherly, whilst elena's i see more of that youthful innocence and kinkiness.

yeah, i got to say even the cut, silhouette are very different between her and ph. but it just blend,

hers are especially slim fitted, from the chest to the waist, and of course, her pants, i dont think we will see any lowcrotch oversize pants from her. but never say never!

her shirting too run really small, i need to wear hers in a medium, while ph shirts i wear in small.

yes, i agree, i can see ppl liked ph, will also like elena. it's like ma+ to carpe diem, limi to yohji... a continuity of otherness.

@melv,

congrats! pics on scoute looks great too! ! truly excited for ya man. would love to fly to sydney and handle them for awhile actually. but always seem to unable to find myself a proper time. : \

i will def look forward feb/march... and.. ah.... the timing, thats the period when ccp start to ships their next collection. i guess you might have a chance to see them at EM then.

Thanks so much for your support Rob as always! I'll let you know closer to the date and keep you in the loop with everything.

The past couple of weeks have been really tough for us physically and mentally. We're just getting everything ready to be sent to Paris... time has never gone so fast.

RE: CCP @ EM - I hope that's the case! It would be great to meet Stephen and Lucy for the first time as well. Sufu group trip to EM? haha.

The Wo-ma cardigan is made out of virgin wool and mohair. It's the piece influenced/stemmed the basis for the whole collection - its an exact replicate from Lyna's grandmother's cardigan, the only thing that Lyna kept when her grandmother passed away last year.

RE: shoes - they're the photographer's own shoes... I can't really remember who its by though sorry :(

oh wow you've raised really interesting questions man. I truly appreciate it. I'll reply to it first thing tomorrow. About to watch Inception on Blu-ray yeew!

re: dilemma - I usually would say go for it but how important is the bbs waffle knit to you? don't let go of things that you're still unsure about... especially when there have been a number of luc cardies floating around... I tried the luc silk cardi @ INK last september and that thing fits tight. so make sure you get the right size!

in terms of looks - I def prefer luc over bbs though...

@rob - lulz hopefully things will pick up overnight! these are just teaser pictures afterall.. can't really tell too much details of the garments yet.

ps. how are your dipped sneaks holding up man? I'm really tempted to pick up another pair hey.. haha. the dirty grey one from EM's pic you posted a few weeks ago look delicious.

Inception is nice to watch... Entertaining although I feel it has been overhyped and interpreted, after all, it is just a hollywood movie (a good one though) :P

Size should be okay, I am true 46 and the Sz. M should fit me just fine - if not it should stretch out... I like the BBS thing, especially worn as an overcoat over a julius zipper or sth. But the question is will the LUC cardigan get enough wear? I hear the neckline is quite difficult to match so not sure I can pull it off...

Do you think it would odd with a regular roundneck tee worn underneath? :-\

@morefire,

do you find that.. luc cardigans.. make body proportions.. look weird? most fit pic I saw they make ppl look funny. its nice knit nevertheless which i think will look great on tall slim dudes like urself.

@melv,

no i have not been wearing them as much, i am abit lazy on hi-tops, takes ages to wear them, so i wear them like once in a blue moon... i really begin to prefer low top sneaks, which i do not have,, kicking myself for not getting pipcleo's.

yes, the grey are so sick.. i love it!

dark grey, grey green and red would be my choice of colours for 09.

but, i have been told, black green ages interestingly, imagine the sneaks in colour combo like the below. it's like rick owens black leather white sole trainers. or augusta sneaks.
