Box from ren

that bootleggers may not look it, but I think it's hands down the best most delightful IPA to drink... the notes it has is amazing... I absolutely love it.

To anybody interested-- I'm taking a trip up to VT for a few days in early May and I'll be making stops to pick up Lawson's Finest, The Alchemist, and Hill Farmstead beers. If anybody wants me to proxy anything, pm me.

I have not had any LFL or Alchemist so I would definitely be interesting in trying whatever they had. I can trade you home brew. XD

^Never had a roggenbier before, sounds interesting though. If you're in Cali and looking for rye beers, I dig Hop Rod Rye from Bear Republic. Rugbrod from The Bruery is pretty good too.

Anyway, just downed this thing, always enjoy this beer:

Jester King Wytchmaker rye ipa.

Pretty damn good. Pours a gorgeous amber with a nice fluffy head that has some pretty good staying power.

Taste is a nice balance of various hop flavors...citrusy, but also some nice piney and spicy notes to round it out. Best aspect is that the rye maltiness really starts to come out as the beer warms up a bit. Great balance, and the rye is forward enough in the flavor to make it a nice something a little different.

Looking forward to trying the Black Metal stout...and the guy at the store said they should be getting some of the Commercial Suicide in soon. Good to see some more good beer coming out of Texas.

Real Ale (also from outside austin) also makes a nice rye pale ale. Maybe it's going to be Austin's style of choice, ha.

I imagine just the regular (which is still barrel aged).

I don't think they bottle the whiskey aged.

And yeah, got you a couple bottles of Black Metal and will get the Commercial Suicide if I can. Will also grab you some other texas beers, if you'd like.

Their "table farmhouse beer" sounds really nice, too. Like that they are doing some session-style stuff.

Having had a good variety of CCB's stouts, I can say with confidence that they are unrivaled in their ability to make chewy, rich imperial stouts. Amazing.

This is what greeted everyone who entered Toronado last Sunday for the Belgian Beer Dinner

I preferred the 2010 I had last July to this one, but loved both. The spicing was way more apparent to me in the 2011. I remember the 2010 being a subtle blend of all of them where nothing stood out, and the body.. OH THE BODY! This one all of the stuff stood out in a mexican chocolate kind of way.
