was given a duchesse de Bourgogne. not being to familiar with it

I gave it a shot.. some initial funk and sour notes but was surprisingly sweet as well. my wife enjoyed it more as my taste buds considered it a dessert beer. broke my streak and opened an alpine duet after I finished a

glass of the duchesse and that duet was was finished pretty quickly.

i like duchesse, pretty good intro sour -> nothing compared to the lip puckering induced by a good cantillon though :)

yo morse/shu those cisco woods are available at all good craft beer stores in the boston area, their regular lineup is alright, but those woods beers are great - if you are near boston check out craft beer cellar in belmont or martys in newton or maybe bauer on newbury st.

i live in quincy though, and usually head to weymouth for granite liquors/luke's/curtis

pretty things is a "gypsy" brewing company - as in they dont have their own brewery, they used to use mercury out in ipswich (where ipswich, clown shoes, etc are all brewed) but now they brew in westport at the "Just Beer" brewery - been down their several times, but Dann the owner/brewer is from Somerville

speaking of which -> http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/18371/68662

picked up a couple of bottle of PT's newest an East India Porter - really tasty, fairly hoppy, better than most of the Black IPA's I have had!

I'm with ren, not really a fan of Duchesse de Bourgogne.. thanks for the tip on the Cisco Woods beers concealed. I'm actually going to be in MA next month sometime so I'll try to pick up some while I'm there.

Not sure where I'll be staying yet. I have about 6 weeks off beginning at the end of this week so we're planning another road trip. This one is kinda crazy:

Haven't really planned much at all but whenever I know something I'll let you know.

Tell me how the Upland Cherry is. I've had the blueberry and enjoyed it. It had the best straight blueberry flavor of any beer I've had. I'll be in Bloomington sometime soon and would like to get some Upland or at the very least trade for it.

She actually picked it up at a bottle shop in West Lafayette.. I was under the impression that you could only buy it from the brewery but I guess not. If you see any while you're there let me know, would love to get ahold of some other flavors.

I thought the sours were brewery only as well, but that doesn't stop someone from going to the brewery to buy it retail and then resell it in there store. I remember seeing a Beer Porn post on BA from some dude that bought about 40 of each blueberry, peach, cherry, blackberry, it was like $4000 in Upland lambics

Took two bottles of 2009 BCBS out to Ithaca Beer yesterday to share with a friend out there.. he gave me a free growler of Dark Humor as well as a 750ml bottle which apparently don't exist ;)

The BCBS was amazing.. haven't been much for stouts in the past couple of years but I really want to find more of this after having it, especially the coffee and vanilla variations.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, I'm not sure what it was but it was too much for my taste. I have an extra bottle if you want it. Alesmith decadence should be out and it will be a barrel aged 08 English barley wine. I still have have my 08 and haven't opened it.
